The Summit will take place from June 19-22, 2025 and will feature a Sip Around the World event where guests can enjoy wines from founding Global AVA wine regions.

June 10, 2025 (Livermore, CA) — The Livermore Valley Wine Community (LVWC) and Alameda County, District 1 Supervisor, David Haubert are proud to announce that they will jointly host the inaugural Global Artisan Vintners Alliance (AVA) Summit in Livermore from June 19-22, 2025. The Global AVA was announced in early 2025 and was established to create a beneficial and sustainable alliance of partner wine regions across the globe. The founding wine regions include the Livermore Valley Wine Community, California; Texas Hill Country Wineries, Texas; Chilecito, Argentina; Dalmatia, Croatia; Chinon, France; Alentejo, Portugal; Vale dos Vinhedos, Brazil; Badacsony, Hungary and Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. Following the visit to Livermore, the Global AVA partners will continue the Summit with a visit to the Texas Hill Country wine region.
“When I envisioned taking the concept of sister cities and applying it to sister wine regions, and partnering the Livermore Valley wine region with similar wine regions around the globe, I always imagined the partnership would include in-person visits to the participating wine regions because nothing can replace in-person connecting and collaborating. So, when the Global Artisan Vintners Alliance launched earlier this year I knew immediately that I wanted our inaugural Global AVA Summit to happen here in my district of Alameda County in our world-class wine country,” said David Haubert, Alameda County, District 1 Supervisor. “I am so thrilled to welcome visitors from around the globe to our renowned AVA and also offer this opportunity for our local wine industry leaders to connect with industry leaders from our partner regions.”
The Summit will welcome seven of the founding regions to Livermore to meet and collaborate around economic development, agri-tourism and marketing initiatives to elevate the global presence of each wine region, among other opportunities. The marquee event is Sip Around the World, which will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 2-5pm at Martinelli Event Center in Livermore. Guests will explore a curated selection of exceptional wines from Europe, North America, and South America, each telling the story of its terroir and tradition as well as celebrating the artistry of winemaking across continents. Tickets are $60 and are available for purchase at https://www.lvwine.org/event/12629/sip-around-the-world.
“On behalf of the entire Livermore Valley Wine Community, we are looking forward to hosting representatives from founding Global AVA regions in Livermore and having them experience all we have to offer from the award-winning wine to the welcoming community,” said Brandi Lombardi, Executive Director for the Livermore Valley Wine Community. “By hosting this Summit, not only will we highlight our own region but we will bring the ultimate international wine tasting experience to our local wine lovers at the Sip Around the World event. It is not to be missed!”
