El Cielo celebrates 13 medals at the 2024 Mexico Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, including a Grand Gold for Galileo 2020, 8 Golds, and 4 Silvers, reinforcing its status as Mexico’s most awarded winery
Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico (December 17, 2024) – El Cielo Resort & Winery in Valle de Guadalupe, one of Mexico’s premier wineries, has been named the most awarded winery at the 2024 México Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. This prestigious competition, held in San Luis Potosí from November 19 to 22, celebrates the diversity and quality of Mexican wines and spirits. It is part of the global Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, one of the most respected international wine competitions, with a unique focus on promoting local production. At the 2024 event, where 841 wines and spirits were evaluated by 35 expert judges from 10 countries, Valle de Guadalupe’s El Cielo distinguished itself by winning 13 medals, further solidifying its reputation as a leader in Mexican winemaking.
El Cielo’s Galileo 2020, a Tempranillo, earned the prestigious Grand Gold Medal, highlighting its complexity and depth. The G&G by Ginasommelier Blanc de Blancs Brut 2019, previously honored at the global Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, received another Gold Medal, cementing its status as a standout sparkling wine. Additional Gold Medals were awarded to the Rosé 2023, Reserva Especial 2021, Centaurus 2019, Orión 2020, Caipirinha 2020, The Capital Grille Ensamble Especial 2018, and Merendola 2020, each demonstrating El Cielo’s dedication to crafting wines of exceptional quality. Silver Medals were awarded to Hypatia 2020, Capricornius 2021 and 2022, and Orión 2019, some of which also received accolades at the global Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. These latest accolades follow a series of achievements for El Cielo. This past summer, the winery earned top honors at the 31st Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, where 11 wines secured 12 medals, including the esteemed Mexico Revelation Trophy, two Grand Gold Medals, six Gold Medals, and three Silver Medals. Adding to this recognition, El Cielo’s signature restaurant, Latitud 32, was included in Michelin Guide’s inaugural Mexico selection, underscoring the seamless fusion of culinary artistry and winemaking excellence that defines the property.
