NAPA / SONOMA, CALIFORNIA |March 14, 2024: On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Noon Pacific Time, Women For WineSense will present “Exploring the Global Neo-Prohibition Movement’s Influence on Health Policy and the Wine Industry,” a Zoom livestream discussion with investigative journalist Felicity Carter.  The one hour event will dive deep into the forces behind the World Heath Organization’s latest assertions on alcohol and health, leaving time for Q & A.

ABOUT THE EVENT:

This latest Neo-Prohibition movement is no stranger to Women For WineSense, founded in 1990 in response to a similar movement.  Felicity Carter is a freelance journalist based in Germany who served as the editor-in-chief of Meininger’s Wine Business International from 2008 to 2021.  Carter has been digging deep into what has been happening since 1990, looking at how abstinence groups are now exerting an influence over global health policy — and what it may mean to the industry if ignored this time.

Carter will present discoveries on the latest global Neo-Prohibition movement, what it means to professionals and consumers, and what actions the industry can take to counter it.

To encourage frank discussion, this event will not be recorded or rebroadcast.

This event launches a bi-monthly series of virtual roundtable events exclusively for Women For WineSense Professional level members across the country and other qualified wine industry professional guests that have received confirmation to attend.  More career-impacting livestream national discussions will follow every two months for Professional tier members and qualified guests.
