Lompoc, CA (November 12, 2023) – All are invited to join in an artist reception for Tyler Ellison on Friday, December 8, from 4-6pm at Flying Goat Tasting & Art Salon. Ellison is a young artist who demonstrates great talent and passion for his subject matter in San Luis Obispo County. Flying Goat co-owners Kate Griffith and Norm Yost also enjoy kayaking and stand up paddling in Morro Bay and Avila Beach, as well as hiking the trails and wildlife reserves throughout the county. The event is free. Come by and meet the artist over wine and cheese in the boho district of the Lompoc Wine Ghetto.
Tyler Ellison paints in oil from life on the Central Coast. The art pieces on display at the art salon reflect a varied perspective of San Luis Obispo County: rugged trees, layered hills, iconic landmarks, creeping mists, vibrant sunsets and sweeping skies. They’re also a collection of memories: walks with friends, sunrise hikes, drives through a gorgeous sunset and quintessential views of the glorious ordinary. Paint is mixed and applied to wood panels using only a palette knife, a style aimed at capturing the interplay of harmonious colors, organic shapes and fluid dynamism naturally occurring in nature. Tasting flights of five Goat Bubbles or five Pinots are offered for $35 or $30, respectively. Bottle and glass purchase are also available at the tasting room Thursday-Monday 11am-4pm.
