Viña Concha y Toro USA Promotes Eduardo Hidalgo to Regional Manager Northeast, Origins Collection

[Mendocino County CA, September 11, 2023] — Viña Concha y Toro USA, the US subsidiary of the world’s largest B Corp winery and pioneer of South American fine wine, strengthens its fine wine division with the promotion of Eduardo Hidalgo to Northeast Regional Manager.

Hidalgo’s appointment is part of a nationwide specialist expansion dedicated to growing the crown jewels of Chile, Argentina, and Mendocino County in  California as part of Viña Concha y Toro’s luxury portfolio, known as the Origins Collection. Eduardo joined the team in 2021 and quickly boosted the company’s presence in the highly competitive New York market thanks to his extensive network and category expertise. His multifaceted background, which includes being an active member of the American Research Center in Egypt and participating in the Archaeology in Practice Program at Oxford University in the UK, brings a unique perspective to the world of fine wines. Before joining Viña Concha y Toro USA, Eduardo held the position of Fine Wine & Key Account Specialist at Frederick Wildman & Son. Prior to that, he served as the National Portfolio Manager for Winebow and managed North American Sales for Cousiño Macul, one of Chile’s oldest family-owned wineries.

Ray Stoughton, Vice President of Sales East, praised Eduardo’s deep knowledge of South American wines, saying, “Eduardo is one of the most knowledgeable South American wine specialists. He takes great pride in revealing the treasures within the Origins Collection’s portfolio.” Eduardo expressed his excitement about the collection, stating, “The depth of this portfolio is breathtaking. Our winemakers and our terroir are some of the world’s best. I have built my career by increasing appreciation and demand for South American wine in the US through education. The Origin Collection takes it to an entirely new level.”

The Origins Collection Division curates terroir-driven wines, including estate and icon wines from South America and California. Jewels from the New World include acclaimed Viña Don Melchor, Marques de Casa Concha Heritage, Amelia from Chile, and Bodega Trivento Eolo from Argentina. California treasures include Bonterra Organic Estates’ Single Vineyard Collection from Regenerative Organic Certified® estate ranches in Mendocino County: ‘The Butler,’ ‘The McNab,’ and ‘The Roost,’ as well as Sanctuary from Sonoma Coast, and Alea Fina from Napa.

Category specialists are a cornerstone of the Origins Collection strategy. “Eduardo’s unparalleled expertise is an incredible asset for the Origins Collection,” emphasized Isabel Guilisasti, Concha y Toro’s Vice President of Fine Wine and Global Image.

Following its remarkable 29th year of recognition by Wine & Spirits as a Top 100 Winery, Viña Concha y Toro’s leadership as a premier purveyor of fine wines surges forward. Bolstered by an expanded team of experts, Viña Concha y Toro USA is poised to accelerate and further elevate the benchmark for fine wine experiences.
