NBA Basketball player CJ McCollum to host meet-and-greet at the Pearl District’s pan-Asian Janken restaurant to celebrate newly released McCollum Heritage 91 2021 Pinot noir, as well as 2020 Chardonnay
September 7th – On Friday, September 22, 2023, CJ McCollum will be at Portland’s stylish pan-Asian Janken restaurant for an exclusive meet-and-greet highlighting the release of McCollum Heritage 91’s 2021 Pinot noir, which will be available along with the winery’s 2020 Chardonnay. Guests are invited to taste the wines, which will be paired with Japanese-Korean fusion selections from renowned Chef Rodrigo Ochoa and his team. Tickets for the event include the featured McCollum Heritage 91 wines, along with access to the meet-and-greet with CJ McCollum.

Janken offers a harmonious fusion of Japanese and Korean aesthetics. The restaurant’s warm and inviting space celebrates togetherness, complemented by a stunning cherry blossom tree at its heart. One of Portland’s hottest restaurants, Janken is known for its delicate, pristine nigiri and sashimi paired with sake; caviar-topped blinis and hot stone wagyu enjoyed with Oregon wines; and special occasion fare such as Peking duck, kimchi fried rice, and smoked whiskey cocktails – all enjoyed in Janken’s stylish, minimalist venue.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the chance to win four tickets to see CJ play against the Trail Blazers during the 2023/24 season along with a signed jersey. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit ¡Salud!, which provides accessible and affordable healthcare services for vineyard stewards and their families in Oregon.

Tasting Notes
- McCollum Heritage 91 2021 Pinot noir (new release): This wine just lifts out of the glass, offering wafting aromas of red rose petal, cinnamon bark, fresh boysenberry and a deep bass note of freshly turned loam. The palate is vibrant and juicy, complementing the long, sleek finish.
- McCollum Heritage 91 2020 Chardonnay: The nose is resplendent with vivid notes of crisp pear, hazelnut praline and a curl of lemon zest. Its ample weight and richness are balanced by a precise acidity, lending vibrancy and a nod to longevity.
