With the slogan “Challenges and new paradigms for a sustainable viticulture”

Buenos Aires, June 1, 2023. The Wine Innovation Summit (WIS) announces its sixth meeting on innovation in the wine industry, with a double person and virtual format, with limited places for the face-to-face version and it will take place in a very representative space of the industry, La Enoteca, Av. Peltier 611, Mendoza City. The meeting will take place on Wednesday July 5, with the slogan Challenges and new paradigms of sustainable viticulture.

In this edition, the opening will be in charge of Lucas Roitman, Researcher in Artificial Intelligence at Apple, he will refer to AI and how it can be used efficiently in industry posts.

In the first block, Dardo Lizárraga CEO of DVA Argentina, will address the challenges facing the phytosanitary industry and the trend of using natural and organic products.

Ing. Andrés Aparicio, Agricultural Manager of Emiliana Organic Vineyards (Chile) will present the results of the Sulfur Reduction Program that the winery implements in its vineyards. For his part, José Ramón Fernández, Agro World Spain (AWS) will refer to a critical issue in the industry, water and how it can be managed efficiently and in balance with the environment. At the end of the first Block, Eng. Daniel Bergamin, Production Manager of Vivero Mercier, will address the innovation applied to the increase in the production of certified vine plants for sustainable and cutting-edge viticulture.

In the next segment, Andrés Valero, Sustainability Leader of Grupo Avinea, will address fair trade and Fairtrade. On her behalf, María Mercedes Álvarez, Sub-Manager of Sustainability at Bodega Trivento, will tell us how the Maipú winery carried out the energy transition, towards more sustainable energy from solar panels.

Gonzalo Yañez, CEO of Moondesk, “Alcoholic beverage labeling has become a growing concern for companies, consumers and governments around the world. With the introduction of the new European Labeling Regulation for alcoholic beverages, companies in that sector are now obliged to provide even more detailed information, and not only in terms of ingredients and nutritional values Many companies, especially wineries that sell their products in that region, are experiencing moments of uncertainty since they do not know what to do, what requirements must be met, what risks exist in the process, how and when to do it. This is where we collaborate with MoonDesk, a technology company specialized in helping companies order their labeling processes and comply with regulations effectively. Through our platform, processes can be optimized, errors avoided, and manual and repetitive tasks automated, allowing wineries to focus on what really matters: adding value to their consumers.”

The last block, Manuel Martínez Rada, CEO of Onvinum (Spain) presents “a professional platform that connects wineries and buyers exclusively in the wine sector. Currently the platform has more than 600 wineries and almost 1,000 active importers or distributors on the platform. The platform is free for wineries and allows them to access importers from 79 different countries. At the same time, importers and distributors can create their own portfolios based on the products they buy from producers to present to retailers in their region, free of charge as well. Onvinum has premium options for users to position their wines and have greater visibility.”

Diego Ledda, CEO and Carlos Moyano CCO of Drinkysify will address the issue of tokenization and NFT in the industry. For his part, Darío Baudino, CEO of Tracestory, the Startup that was born in 2019, in Río Cuarto, Córdoba; is a collaborative traceability software that can be used as a platform to demonstrate sustainable processes, food safety, quality and authenticity to the consumer, at the same time that it can help the development of producers thanks to sharing data with the different links of the production chains. The collaborative digital record can be expressed in two applications: the first shows the production processes of specific batches through a QR on the packaging or packaging of the products, the second is a control panel for monitoring production variables.
