One-of-a-kind offering created for the finest of fine wine collectors

Stags Leap District, CA, May 2, 2023 – The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association is proud to announce the creation of the 2021 Stags Leap District Winegrowers Cabernet Sauvignon: A Collaboration. A singular wine, this Cabernet is crafted from 16 lots from the Association’s 16 member wineries and crafted by a master blending team.

“This inaugural launch was created with a goal of creating an extraordinary Cabernet expressive of place and a one-of-a-kind collaboration among our 16 vintner members,” said Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association Executive Director Nancy Bialek. “The launch of this ultra-premium 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon represents the best of the best.”

In 2021, the 16 vintner members of the association joined together to combine the most prestigious lots from the vintage into one cohesive, collectible, one-of-a-kind creation. This Cabernet is set to take its place among the finest wines in the world, occupying rarefied air, the first-ever collaboration of its kind to be available directly to enthusiasts and collectors.

The 16-point buck label design represents the 16 member wineries that collaborated on this wine, but together the entire rack represents the strength of the whole. All are individually impressive but together they are legendary. Further, the styling is both evocative and subtle, emulating the characteristic power and grace the world has come to expect of Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignons.

Leading the master blending team for this wine are Michael Baldacci (Baldacci Family Vineyards), Robbie Meyer (Malk Family Vineyards), Robert Smith (Quixote Winery), Elizabeth Vianna (Chimney Rock Winery) and Josh Widaman (Pine Ridge Vineyards). Together they represent some of the Napa Valley’s finest properties and have a reputation for, and knowledge of, the highest level of winemaking.

“My personal goal as a winemaker has always been to tell the tale of place and time,” said Vianna, winemaker at Chimney Rock Winery. “I think we all share the philosophy of crafting terroir-driven wines, so the goal was to create a show-stopping wine that highlights the hedonistic texture of Stags Leap District, the finesse and age-worthiness of our Stags Leap Cabernets and the sheer beauty of the aromatics and acidity of the 2021 vintage.”

The wine will be available for purchase online exclusively through the Stags Leap District Winegrowers website between October 15 and December 14, 2023. Only four barrels (100 cases) were made. Available in both 3 and 6-packs, the wine will be available for $275/bottle.
