(September 12, 2022) — Foley Family Wines, named by the Sonoma County Vintners Foundation as the Honorary Chair for the 2022 Sonoma County Wine Auction (SCWA), will host the annual live event at Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery on September 17. Foley Family Wines (FFW) is also donating two major lots for live bidding.

The auction will take place in Chalk Hill’s open-air event space overlooking the 1,300-acre Healdsburg property, which is planted to 300 acres of sustainably farmed vineyards and four acres of organic culinary gardens. Founded in 1972, the winery helped to establish the Chalk Hill AVA as one of California’s top winegrowing regions.

“We’re thrilled to welcome SCWA guests to Chalk Hill while also celebrating the 50th anniversary of this iconic winery,” said vintner Bill Foley, founder and owner of Foley Family Wines (FFW) and proprietor of Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery. “We take pride not only in our history of winemaking and sustainability efforts but also in advocating for our local community. The funds raised during SCWA will be distributed by Sonoma County Vineyard Foundation to numerous Sonoma County nonprofits who work tirelessly to care for those most in need.”

Since SCWA’s inception, the auction has raised $39 million for local organizations supporting literacy, education, health and human services, the environment, and arts and culture.

Luxury Getaways and Wine Collections Up for Bid

FFW and Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards & Winery have donated two lots for SCWA’s live auction, both featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and curated wine collections.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights VIP Package (lot No. 8), invites the winning bidder to experience a live Vegas Golden Knights hockey game in a private luxury suite. The package includes seats for eight guests, round-trip airfare for the entire party, and a two-night stay for eight guests in sumptuous hotel accommodations near the Las Vegas Strip. Guests will also enjoy a VIP dinner featuring wines from Chalk Hill, Ferrari-Carano, Lancaster Estate, Roth Estate, Sebastiani Vineyards and Banshee, as well as a curated 12-bottle collection of wines from FFW’s Sonoma County wineries.

The Private Kauai Estate Getaway (lot No. 15) offers a luxurious escape to Hawaii. Eight guests will receive round-trip airfare and a three-night stay in a cliff-top mansion at the lush, Balinese-inspired Hale ‘Ae Kai estate in Kauai. Each night, a private chef will create intimate dinners for the group featuring reserve wines from Ferrari-Carano, Chalk Hill Estate, Banshee, Lancaster Estate, Roth Estate and Sebastiani Vineyards. The package also includes a collection of limited release and reserve wines from the FFW portfolio.

Chalk Hill wines are also featured in the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) Collection (lot No. 1), comprised of 300 bottles from Sonoma County’s most acclaimed vintners, as well as Magnificent Magnums (lot No. 21), a rare collection of 50 1.5-liter bottles from acclaimed local producers.
