Charity Auction in Aid of Ukraine

Bidding starts at €1 – live on iDealwine.com until 14th April 

5 April – Leading online wine auctioneer, iDealwine.com has launched a charity auction in aid of Ukraine. The sale features over 750 bottles, and all proceeds will be donated to Ukraine Amitié, a charity sending financial aid and medical  supplies to Ukraine. 

Initiated by Laurent Fortin of Bordeaux’s Château Dauzac and the region’s Honorary Consul to Ukraine, the auction  boasts 300 lots generously donated by some of Bordeaux’s most iconic properties, top French wine producers,  iDealwine itself, the wine trade and wine enthusiasts – bidding is now underway, beginning at €1 for all lots in this  charity auction.  

Auction Highlights – Rare Imperials, Jeroboams, Double Magnums 

Equivalent to 6 litres or 8 regular size bottles, several rare Imperials will go under the hammer including 2010 Lynch  Bages, 2008 Lagrange, and 1994 Château Kirwan. In Jeroboam format (5 litres in Bordeaux), highlights include 2011  Fleur Cardinale, 2004 Leoville Poyferre, 1981 Château Siran, 2013 Château d’Issan, 2017 Leoville Barton, 1995 Château  Dillon, and 2010 Lafon Rochet. Double-magnums will go under the hammer from co-organiser of the sale Château  Dauzac (2017), Pichon Comtesse (2008), Phélan Ségur (2015) and many more including lots that will delight Sauternes  lovers – particularly a 2005 double magnum from Château d’Yquem and 2010 double magnum from Château Rieussec.  

In regular bottles sizes, magnums, and in multi-bottle lots, Bordeaux afficionados can bid on 2005 and 2011, Château  Lafite Rothschild, 2015 Château Saint Pierre, 2009 Smith Haut Lafitte, 1999 Pontet Cantet, 1999 Château Clarke to  name just a few. Beyond Bordeaux, bids are open on magnums of Champagne Billecart Salmon (2007 in brut, blanc de  blancs, and rosé); no less than 138 bottles from top Languedoc producer Domaine des Aurelles; La Landonne 2005  from Gugial; and from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, a 2003 bottle of La Tâche generously donated by one of  iDealwine’s most loyal clients.  

Wine Experiences 

Donated by Bordeaux expert Jane Anson, “The Connoisseur Week”, is an exceptional trip this June hosted by Jane  herself and Sarah Kemp, former publisher of Decanter magazine. The week features private tastings, lunches and  dinners at Château Margaux, Lafite-Rothschild, Yquem, Haut-Bailly, and La Fleur Petrus. The glittering itinerary also  includes Saint-Émilion with a visit to Troplong Mondot and two more of the appellation’s most famous properties. The  last spot remaining on this exclusive tour will go under the hammer in this sale. 

Escape to Saint-Émilion with a one-night stay up for grabs in Château Edmus’s new luxury suite and enjoy views over  the winery and the vines. Domaine Belargus in the Loire Valley is inviting bidders to join owner Ivan Massonnat on a  “butterfly walk” of the vineyard, as well as a ticket to the Paulée d’Anjou wine gala.
