9000 bottles to go under the hammer from 22nd March

Paris, January 15th iDealwine, global leader in online wine auctions and no.1 wine auctioneer in France, has opened bidding on an exceptional private collection. Closing incrementally over three days, on 22nd, 23rd and 24th March, this catalogue stands out for the sheer number and variety of top names included.  The most sought-after Burgundy and rarest natural wines, particularly from the Jura, are sure to attract the most discerning wine enthusiasts.

Bucket-list Wines

From First Growth Bordeaux to rare natural wine, this auction catalogue reads like a bucket-list for wine lovers. Overnoy, Domaine des Miroirs, Ganevat, Bruyère-Houillon, Richard Leroy, Bernaudeau, Thierry Allemand, Yvon Métras, and many more of the most fashionable names in natural and biodynamic wine feature in this private collection.

The holy grail for many wine enthusiasts, the auction features bottles from Jean-Louis Chave, Petrus, Château Mouton Rothschild, La Grange des Pères (Languedoc) and several blue-chip Italian names such as Gaja and Sassicaia.

Burgundy highlights

The auction for the Burgundy-obsessed, highlights include multiple vintages of d’Auvenay and Leroy (2000, 2009 Aligotés Sous Chatelet; 2014 Pommard Les Vignots and more); Bizot (Vosne-Romanée, Hautes Côtes de Nuits), white Meursaults from Arnaud Ente; mature vintages from Lignier (1999 and 2002 Clos de la Roche), and collector bottles such as René Engel’s 1964 Vosne-Romanée.

Impeccable Provenance

The enormous collection was amassed partly from direct allocation from producers and partly from wine merchants in Paris, which the consignor has frequented since the 1990s.  He says, “I was lucky to be able to buy a lot of fine wine before prices went through the roof” and has been interested in the natural wine scene for over ten years, beginning with Richard Leroy.

Bucketlist bottles for wine enthusiasts

Cyrille Jomand, CEO of iDealwine, explains: “A simply breath-taking private collection for discerning wine lovers and an auction that captures the very essence of iDealwine – it has the best (not necessarily the most expensive) producers from every French wine region; and a focus on the estates that are highly-sought after by wine lovers, rather than the most famous labels”. With 9000 bottles valued at approximately €1.5 million (£1.25m; US $1.64m), this private collection promises to be one of iDealwine’s most exciting auctions to date.
