The Hess Persson Estates name honors the legacy of founder Donald Hess
and the next-generation stewardship of Sabrina and Timothy Persson
Napa, CA (September 16, 2021) – Today, The Hess Collection Winery embraces a new name: Hess Persson Estates. The name recognizes the business as it stands today – a leading luxury wine producer with two distinct portfolios: the Hess Collection and the Lions Head Collection. The new name will be reflected in both business and property entities and brings together next generation stewardship and an elevated reimagination of the winery’s direct-to-consumer and club experiences.
Under the leadership of Sabrina and Timothy Persson, Hess Persson Estates has reinforced its reputation as one of the premier family-owned and operated wineries. The winery stands committed to its position as a leading producer of luxury wine. Known for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, this will remain a core focus and commitment for the future.

During the 10 years of Sabrina and Timothy’s stewardship, Hess Persson Estates has significantly shifted its emphasis towards luxury Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2015, they launched the Lions Head luxury Collection, spear-headed by the Lion Tamer Cabernet Sauvignon. The focus on luxury Cabernet has been reinforced through the acquisition of new vineyards in Napa Valley, investments in state-of-the-art winery facilities, and in driving sustained growth of the Hess Collection’s popular Allomi Cabernet.
Timothy Persson continues, “In the last ten years, we’ve been through an earthquake, a landslide, two wildfires, severe drought and of course the pandemic. Notwithstanding these challenges, our team, brands and vineyards have excelled and so we are both ready and excited for what the future now holds.”
