Gradis’ciutta officially announces that all its monovarietal DOC COLLIO wines are fully certified organic according to EU regulations

September 1st – Gradis’ciutta, a family-owned winery located in San Floriano del Collio, started the conversion to organic winemaking some years ago and can now officially announce that all its monovarietal DOC COLLIO wines are fully certified organic according to EU regulations. Ribolla Gialla, one of the most important variety in the line, finally joins the other wines already certified: Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Friulano.
Produced exclusively from Ribolla Gialla grapes, the oldest known variety of Collio, it is a wine that shows the intensity of flavors that you get from hillside vineyards with dry stony soils and good exposure to sunlight, expressing at best the terroir where it belongs
With this announcement, Gradis’ciutta makes a step forward on its path of becoming a completely sustainable winery. Robert Princic decided to start this journey in 2008 for two important reasons: on one side the preservation of the soil, the historical richness of the family, and the constant research for increasing the quality of life of the people that works in the winery.
In terms of quality of the vintage, the weather conditions of the 2020 grape harvest caused a slight reduced quantity per hectare compared to 2019, but the investments made in acquiring new vineyards and restructuring and reconverting older ones, gave Gradis’ciutta the possibility to ensure a stable production. The average quality of the production is in line with 2019 vintage, marking a couple of years that will be remembered for the strong quality of the wine.
For all this facts, Gradis’ciutta Doc Collio line up wines have never been so healthy and good.
