Decadent Food & Wine Pairing Experience Celebrates Anniversary of Moon Landing
(NAPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA – July 2, 2021) – Napa Valley based HALL & WALT Wines, a luxury set of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir producers, has announced a collaboration with Omni La Costa Resort & Spa to celebrate the anniversary of the 1969 moon landing when two American astronauts landed on the moon and became the first humans to walk on the lunar surface. The seasonal food and wine pairing dinner will be hosted by WALT’s General Manager, Jeff Zappelli and Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s Executive Chef Adam Solowitz and Bob’s Steak & Chop House’s Executive Chef Justin Huntington. The exclusive dinner will take place at the resort’s newest meeting venue, Costa de la Luna.
“We have an all-star line-up of newly released HALL and WALT wines in the market this Summer,” says WALT General Manager, Jeff Zappelli. “The collaboration with Chef Adam and Chef Justin allows us to show off not only the diversity and opulence of these wines alongside their indulgent pairings, but also provides an educational exercise that will excite the guests.”
Guests attending Fly Me To The Moon will be invited to enjoy a family-style culinary experience by Omni La Costa Resort & Spa’s Executive Chef Adam Solowitz and Bob’s Steak & Chop House’s Executive Chef Justin Huntington who will join forces for the very first time for the custom curated multi-course menu. Each seasonal dish will be paired with a newly released wine by HALL Napa Valley and WALT Sonoma led by General Manager Jeff Zappelli. Guests will learn about food pairing techniques with a summer-inspired menu, understand the basics of wine tasting, and dig deeper into the flavor profiles of bold Cabernet Sauvignon and versatile Pinot Noir wines.

The July 21 event references the song, Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra, which was closely associated with NASA’s Apollo Space program in the 1960’s and became the first music heard on the moon when American astronaut Buzz Aldrin played it on his portable cassette player. The Fly Me To The Moon event theme for the food and wine dinner is inspired by the historical moment in American History in 1969.
