An Evening with Grammy® Award Winner Jody Watley: Wine & Pride

Napa, CA (June 8, 2021) – Blue Note Napa is thrilled to present Grammy award-winning artist, Jody Watley on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the iconic Charles Krug Winery.

Recently, The National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM) has announced Grammy award-winning artist and performer Jody Watley as its inaugural membership ambassador.

Jody Watley, singer/songwriter/producer/businesswoman, is one of the architects of 21st century pop. From her groundbreaking marriage of rap and R&B (1987’s “Friends,” a collaboration with hip-hop legends Eric B. & Rakim) to her vision-forward marriage of high fashion, street fashion and music in the ‘80s (long before it became the norm), to her fusion of jazz and underground club culture with keen pop instincts and the ease with which she crossed and still crosses genre, Jody Watley forged the template that is now everybody’s playbook.

“We are ecstatic to be the venue of choice for her first live performance since the pandemic halted live music last year,” said Ken Tesler, owner, Blue Note Napa. “For such an iconic artist like Jody Watley to join us in our first wave of shows is really special for us. ”

Watley’s performance coincides with pride month (June), and Blue Note Napa will donate a portion of the ticket sales to the LGBTQ Connection Napa in support of NAPA PRIDE.

Tickets are available at bluenotenapa.com or ticketmaster.com. The Charles Krug Estate is located at 2800 Main St. in St Helena, Napa Valley, CA.

ABOUT CHARLES KRUG WINERY

In 1943, Italian immigrants Cesare and Rosa Mondavi purchased the historic Charles Krug property, the oldest winery in the Napa Valley and longest-running tasting room in California. The brand was built on a foundation of family values, hard work and a European winemaking tradition; it remains a family-owned winery today, producing estate-driven, top of the line Napa Valley wines. The wineries are under the direction of Peter Mondavi Jr. and Marc Mondavi, who steward the family business passed to them by their father, legendary Napa Valley wine icon Peter Mondavi Sr.  The family is now proudly welcoming members of the fourth generation to the business, continuing a legacy started over 70 years ago and setting a foundation for generations to come.
