iDealwine Joins Forces with Vendanges Solidaires

April 22nd – Online wine auctioneer, iDealwine.com has opened bids on a charity sale to support French winemakers in need. All proceeds of the sale go to Vendanges Solidaires, a French charity that provides financial and practical aid to winemakers who have been negatively impacted by climate change.

In the wake of the catastrophic frost that has impacted almost every vine in France (and across Europe), costing an estimated €2 billion to the French wine industry, iDealwine has opened bids on the charity auction sale which will close on April 30th, 2021. In the works for many months prior to the freezing spring temperatures, iDealwine has organised the catalogue, valuation, and authentication of lots; is hosting the sale and will take care delivery to the successful bidders in Europe, Asia, and the US. Every penny will go to winemakers in difficulty via Vendanges Solidaires. With no reserve pricing, over 300 bottles are currently in the midst of bidding wars – it’s a win-win situation for wine enthusiasts all over the world who have the chance to snap up a bucket list wine while donating to an incredibly worthwhile cause.

Auction Highlights

Rousseau, Petrus, Clos Rougeard, Gonon, Château Leoville Poyferré, Alice et Olivier de Moor, Domaine des Croix, Clos des Papes, Domaine Bonneau du Martray, François Villard, Domaine de Chevalier, Domaine Bott-Geyl, Annie Sauvat, Vignoble du Rêveur, Egly Ouriet, Jean Foillard, Matthieu Deiss, Mas des Caprices, Château de Plaisance, Robert et Bernard Plageoles, Camin Larredya, Domaine Bordaxuria, Henri Bonneau, and many more including some very mysterious donated by iDealwine…

Thanks to the generosity of vignerons all over France, this charity auction offers lots that won’t be found anywhere else: Three magnums of 2008 vintage champagne from Selosse that haven’t even been released? According to Guillaume and Anselme Selosse, the three magnums comprise “two bottles from our cellar and one bottle that was originally destined for an event with wine critics at La Revue du Vin de France magazine (who have rated it 20/20). This vintage won’t be on sale until 1st September 2021.”
