Agspring Names David J. Hammond VP Strategic Sales

March 10th – Leawood, Kansas — Agspring, a third-party logistics provider to agricultural supply chains, has named David J. Hammond vice president strategic sales for its Agforce Transport Services subsidiary. He is responsible for overseeing Agforce’s wine and spirits teams to provide logistics solutions for customers in California and elsewhere.

“Dave has been a long-term mentor to the Agforce management team specializing in wine and spirits supply chains,” said CEO Mark Beemer. “He will further strengthen our wine and spirits vertical business and locally support our significant customer base in California.” He will work from his office in Santa Rosa, California.

Hammond has two decades of experience in sales, logistics and supply chain management. Most recently he had been president since 2015 of QPI/Protek Wine, an industry leader in cold chain protection based in Napa, California. With responsibility for company management, sales and P&L, he along with other shareholders acquired QPI and successfully restructured, relocated and rebranded the company to increase market share.

In 2011 he had joined Groskopf Warehousing and Logistics, Sonoma, California, as general manager, vice president of sales. After tripling the size of the company, he was promoted to senior vice president, sales and logistics, with responsibility for overall company sales and the logistics department.

Earlier in his professional career Hammond was regional sales manager and later global account manager at REXAM International, Evansville, Indiana, where he earned the company’s Eagle Award recognition for being No. 1 in sales for the closures and containers division. From 2004 to 2011 he gained experience in business development and marketing management at companies in California and Kansas City and for two years was president and shareholder of Synergy Glass & Packaging in Santa Rosa.
