August 11, 2020, Napa Valley, California – Cakebread Cellars is pleased to announce that Aaron Fishleder has been named the new Vice President of Operations. In the newly created role, Aaron will oversee all operations for the family-owned winery, including viticulture, winemaking, and facilities. Mike Jaeger, winery President & CEO states, “We are thrilled to welcome Aaron to our Cakebread Cellars family as we commence the winery’s 47th harvest season and vintage. This new position will further enhance our expertise and integration between these three critically important areas of the company.”

“I am honored to join one of Napa Valley’s most iconic wineries,” Fishleder said of the new role. “The Cakebread family’s dedication to quality, innovation and sustainability is one of the many reasons I was drawn to join the team. I look forward to helping build upon the winery’s success for the future.” His first day at the company was August 6.

Aaron joins Cakebread Cellars with an extensive knowledge of ultra-premium grape growing and wine production, as well as experience building and managing teams for success. He is a graduate of UC Davis with a BS in Plant Science and MS in Horticulture with an emphasis in Viticulture. Upon graduating, Aaron became the viticulturist at the Far Niente winery where he progressed to President of their farming operation over his 20+ years there. When he is not working, Aaron enjoys landscaping projects, playing tennis, running, and working with his wife Heather on design projects around the house.

Cakebread Cellars was founded in 1973 by Jack and Dolores Cakebread, whose sons, Bruce and Dennis, own the winery today. In its 45+ year history, the winery has earned a reputation for exceptional wines and gracious hospitality. Its success is built on quality, consistency, and continuity – not only in grape-growing and winemaking, but in the dedicated people who create Cakebread Cellars’ world-class wines. Best known for its Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, the family’s offerings include 17 wines in total, with 9 distributed nationally.

Cakebread Cellars worked with wine industry executive search company The Cypress Group to fill the role.
