High Plains Winery Hosts Happy Hours for Wine Lovers Statewide Safely With a Virtual Spin
DALLAS, TX (July 7, 2020) – Reddy Vineyards, Texas’ own pioneers of the wine industry, has had to close the tasting room doors in Brownfield once more due to COVID-19. And, in an effort to continue to deliver its award-winning Texas wines to wine lovers in a socially-distant way, the winery announced today they will resume its Virtual Tasting Series via Zoom. This Virtual Tasting Series will use the award-wining wines of Reddy Vineyards to highlight unique characteristics of wine and the winemaking process to give consumers some practical, behind the scenes knowledge in a delicious way. The inaugural virtual tasting will be held on Thursday, July 16 at 5:00pm CST with Reddy Vineyards Chief Operating Officer and resident Sommelier, Eric Sigmund, leading the tasting.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is something we’ve monitored closely at Reddy Vineyards,” said Akhil Reddy. “We’re thrilled we’re able to pivot our business and meet wine lovers in their homes – albeit virtually – to continue to learn about and enjoy our favorite, premium 100% Texan wines.”
The first virtual tasting in the series will focus on understanding how age, acid and alcohol affect white wines. Participants can purchase the featured wines, the 2017 Marsanne and 2019 Sauvignon Blanc, on the Reddy Vineyards website in advance and ask questions and chat with Eric throughout the tasting.
“Wine tastings are my favorite role in my position here at Reddy Vineyards,” said Eric Sigmund. “I love introducing a wine to a group, seeing them experience the wine for the first time, and discussing the flavors and aromas. This Virtual Tasting Series will be a fun way to get our minds off COVID-19 for a brief period in time and enjoy the incredible wines that Texas has to offer.”
