The Far Niente Family of Wineries and Vineyards is pleased to announce that as of Saturday, June 6th, they are welcoming guests back for private wine tastings and limited guest experiences at Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel properties. Both wineries are embracing new standards to prioritize health, safety, and comfort (read about them here), and are excited to welcome guests — from a safe distance — with the warm, enchanting hospitality for which they are known.

“We are excited to be able to reopen and look forward to having our guests visit us again. We welcomed our first guests back this past Saturday, June 6th, at both Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel. Our health and safety protocols are in place, and our staff has been retrained and is ready. Since we have always been by appointment, in addition to lots of outdoor space at the wineries, visitors can be assured of a safe, enjoyable experience.” said Mary Grace, Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

The following experiences are now available at Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel:

Private Far Niente Tastings (Available from 10 AM to 3:30 PM daily)

Guests are able to experience the current release Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, alongside the extremely limited Cave Collection wines with the Cave Collection Library Tasting, or taste the newest vintages alongside hand-selected wines from the family of wineries during an Estate Tasting. All winery experiences are private, with limited, appointment-only seating. More information and reservations are available here

Appointment-Only Nickel & Nickel Experiences (Available from 10 AM to 3 PM daily)

Nickel & Nickel offers two unique, private tasting experiences, each featuring 100-percent varietal, single-vineyard Cabernets from Napa Valley’s most exciting regions, illustrating the wines’ distinctly different characters. Both the Single-Vineyard Classic and Terroir Tastings are private and reservation-only, with limited daily availability. The tastings can be scheduled here

Tasting appointments at Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel, as well as arrivals and departures, are reservation-only.

The Far Niente Family of Wineries and Vineyards will also continue to offer virtual experiences. The virtual wine tastings and group happy hours invite guests to engage with the Far Niente Family wines and winery pros from the comfort of home. Details on the virtual offerings can be found here or guests can reach out to Kelly Denny at (707) 302-3627 or kdenny@nickelandnickel.com.

About Far Niente Family of Wineries and Vineyards

Far Niente was established in Oakville, CA in 1885 and prospered until the onset of Prohibition in 1919, when the winery ceased operation and the estate was abandoned. Sixty years later, in 1979, the old stone shell of a winery underwent a three-year renovation, which restored the building to its original, 19th-century grandeur. During the restoration, the name “Far Niente,” which romantically translated means “without a care,” was found carved in stone on the front of the building.

Far Niente helped create the high-end Napa Valley wine market and has served as the benchmark wine estate for more than three decades. Dolce, the only North American winery devoted to a single-late harvest Napa Valley wine was introduced in 1989. Nickel & Nickel, launched in 1997, is focused on producing single-vineyard, 100 percent varietal, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. EnRoute, established in 2007 in the Russian River Valley, is dedicated to the appellation’s Pinot Noir. Most recently Bella Union, devoted to Napa Valley Cabernet and located along Bella Oaks Lane in Rutherford, introduced its first wine with the 2012 vintage.  Together with Vinescape, its vineyard management arm, the wineries comprise the Far Niente Family of Wineries and Vineyards.
