Safe, Socially-Distant Patio Tastings with Lunch Available By Appointment
(Sonoma County – CALIF.) – Following more than two months of mandatory winery tasting room closures by the state of California due to COVID-19, Papapietro Perry Winery will welcome visitors by appointment daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Friday, June 5.
Located in the picturesque Dry Creek Valley within Sonoma County, Papapietro Perry is ready for wine tasters with a large, covered “outdoor room” appropriate for all types of weather, which is actually their safe and socially-distanced patio that was expanded and remodeled within the last year. Vineyard views also naturally enhance the winetasting experience at the winery, with vistas within eyeshot from every seat.
“As we have done throughout the sudden Coronavirus Pandemic, our Papapietro Perry Winery team has pivoted and worked together to recreate and sustain our business. Because full lunch meal service is currently a requirement for wineries to reopen in California, we have created a multi-dimensional winery lunch experience, with a choice of entree and tasting flight of five wines for each guest,” explained Renae Perry CEO and co-owner of Papapietro Perry Winery.
The new Papapietro Perry Patio Tastings will include a gourmet boxed lunch from Sally Tomatoes, which can be enjoyed for a one-hour wine tasting experience outdoors on the patio. A sample menu includes the choice of a Grilled Sweet Potato Bahn Mi with Asian slaw, pickled jalapenos, radish, avocado and sweet soy glaze or a Fresh Roast Turkey Sandwich with cranberry chutney, green onion cream cheese and arugula – each lunch will also include a side accompaniment such as fresh cauliflower tabbouleh salad and a dessert such as homemade chocolate raspberry brownie. The Patio Tastings are $20 per person for club members or $40 per person otherwise.
While there are other changes and requirements now in place at the winery, safety of visitors and the Papapietro Perry Tasting Room pros is foremost. “To comply with Phase 2 of the reopening in Sonoma County, masks are required for every visitor, our indoor tasting room is open only for staff members, individuals as well as parties of no more than six people will be welcome only by prearranged appointment, and it is required that all individuals in one party remain at least six feet from other visiting parties,” Perry added.
Papapietro Perry Winery is a boutique, family-owned winery located in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley, which has specialized in making remarkable, classic Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, as well as a small selection of other varietals from Sonoma such as Zinfandel, Chardonnay and Rosé. Committed to quality for more than twenty years, owners Ben and Yolanda Papapietro and Bruce and Renae Perry, who began making wine as a hobby in a San Francisco basement in 1980, have consistently produced small lots of award-winning and critically-acclaimed wines, handmade from harvest to punch down.
