Portland, Ore. (November 7, 2019) — Tony Rynders, winemaker of premium Willamette Valley Pinot Noir at Tendril Wines and its approachable, playful counterpart Child’s Play Wines, establishes a new home for his winery in Carlton, Oregon at 130 West Monroe Street. The winery’s new address in the center of Carlton lies adjacent to a forthcoming tasting room for Child’s Play Wines.

The new tasting room will feature seasonal flights from Child’s Play Wines, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, a dark-hued Pinot Noir rosé, and a Malbec sourced from the Walla Walla Valley, among others. The casual and welcoming tasting room will open for Thanksgiving Weekend and expand with regular hours in early 2020.

A seated tasting of Tendril wines is currently available by appointment only at the winery’s new home in Carlton. Guided by Rynders, Tendril Wines’ signature “five-course meal” tasting showcases the versatility and depth of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. The tasting includes, but is not limited to, Tendril’s Pretender White Pinot Noir, fermented 16 months in neutral French oak, and the Tightrope Pinot Noir, made with fruit sourced exclusively from top vineyards in the Yamhill-Carlton sub-AVA.

Launched in 2008, Tendril wines are made with fruit sourced from singular vineyards farmed sustainably. Thanks to long-standing relationships with vineyards Saffron Fields and Mount Richmond in Yamhill-Carlton, as well as Clay Court and Carabella in the Chehalem Mountains, Rynders focuses his production on wine style rather than site. Rynders also planted Maverick Vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton; the site comprises four acres of Chardonnay and ten acres of unique, Californian heritage clones of Pinot Noir.

Rynders, whose résume includes tenures at Domaine Serene, Hogue and Argyle, is also the consulting winemaker of Saffron Fields, Panther Creek Cellars, Open Claim Vineyards, and Maggy Hawk, among others.

Child’s Play Wines and Tendril Wines open their new home at 130 West Monroe Street the weekend before and during the Willamette Valley Wine Country Thanksgiving, November 23 and 24 and November 29, 30 and 31, respectively. Tasting appointments of Tendril Wines can be made via email at tastings@tendrilwines.com or by calling (503) 858-4524.
