Distinguished designs are fresh and modern, while honoring the decades of history at the Napa Valley winery
Napa, CA (November 6, 2019)– Completing a year of 50th anniversary celebrations, including a total renovation and expansion of their Rutherford hospitality destination, ZD Wines of Napa Valley unveiled a bold new website and refreshed wine package design.
“We wish everyone could visit our Vineyard View Tasting Room in Rutherford, but for many of our fans, our website is where they can get a good sense of our style and personality,” said Brett deLeuze, president of ZD Wines and second generation of the founding deLeuze family. “The rich photography beautifully highlights our vineyards and winery, while the navigation is much more current.”
Created by San Francisco-based agency FINE Design—which has extensive wine and spirits expertise—in collaboration with the ZD team, the new ZDWines.com uses full-bleed images, precise copywriting, and clean navigation to share the story of the family-owned winery. The result is streamlined and modern, with an enhanced user experience.
The winery has also introduced a sophisticated new label design celebrating 50 years of winemaking excellence. With an embossed wreath of white pearl foil grape leaves and a refined ZD logo, the textured paper label immediately conveys the elegance and quality of the wines. The 2018 ZD Wines Carneros Pinot Noir is the first traditional release to showcase the new look. The reserve wines now have a rich, gold silk-screened label that features the same enhancements, and were first introduced on the 2017 ZD Wines Carneros Reserve Chardonnay.
“Our winery has always embraced innovative winemaking and experimentation, but with an eye to the traditions of our past,” deLeuze continued. “We took the same approach when updating our brand look and feel. The new website and label convey our roots in traditional techniques, but also our modern spirit.”
Established in 1969, ZD Wines offers award-winning Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with two small-production wines under the “Rosa Lee” label, named after the founding matriarch who passed away in 2018. The winery also crafted a limited-edition 50th Anniversary Sparkling Reserve Cuvée releasing in November. Recently, ZD released Abacus XXI, a solera-style blend of 27 vintages of the winery’s 100% Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.
ZD Wines is open daily from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 8383 Silverado Trail in Rutherford. Reservations are required for all tours, and highly recommended for the Vineyard View Tasting. Appointments can be made by calling (800) 487- 7757 or emailing experiences@zdwines.com.
