August 23, 2019— Family-owned Champagne house Besserat de Bellefon is bringing its “Triple B” Cuvée to the United States. Crafted from estate grown grapes, biodynamic farmed in the Marne Valley. As the largest single owner of biodynamic vineyards, Besserat de Bellefon owns 40 out of 150 acres in the Champagne region.
“Over the years, we’ve started adopting more methods to help preserve and protect the environment. It’s important that we look to the future, nurture our soils and reduce our carbon footprint while safeguarding one of the region’s greatest natural treasures: the terroir,” explains owner Godefroy Baijot.
Retailing for $90 per bottle, Besserat de Bellefon’s Triple B Brut Nature 2015 Cuvée is like a time capsule of the vineyard’s terroir. Though only certified as organic (Ecocert) in the 2015 vintage, the Besserat de Bellefon Organic Triple B Brut Nature Cuvée Champagne is in transition and will be Demeter-certified in future vintages. Not only is this wine in biodynamic transition and organically certified, but it is also from Besserat de Bellefon’s vineyards and, thus, a true “grower Champagne” (RM).
While still as traditional in taste as Besserat de Bellefon’s Bleu Brut, Rosé, Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs and Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs, Triple is an expression that champions a return to the roots, celebrating the terroir we have today while preserving it for the generations of tomorrow.
