Alexander Valley Wine Week Celebrates Successful Second Year, Showcasing Wine Country Experiences and Healdsburg Hospitality

From vineyard tours and wine-blending competitions to exclusive tastings and Vintner Happy Hours, the weeklong celebration connected visitors with Alexander Valley growers, winemakers, and local businesses. Save the date for September 20–26, 2027.

HEALDSBURG, Calif. — October 2026 — Alexander Valley Winegrowers (AVW) celebrated the successful conclusion of its second annual Alexander Valley Wine Week, held September 21–27, 2026. The weeklong event brought together wineries, restaurants, hotels, and visitors for an immersive celebration of the people, wines, and agricultural heritage that make Alexander Valley one of Sonoma County’s most distinctive and celebrated wine regions.

Throughout the week, participating wineries opened their doors for special experiences that took visitors beyond the traditional tasting room.

Experiences included vineyard tractor tours, guided vineyard hikes, behind-the-scenes production and cave tours, educational tastings, food-and-wine pairings, opportunities to bottle wine, and Mercury Wine’s interactive wine-blending competition. Visitors also explored terroir through guided tastings featuring vineyard maps, soil samples, and wines from Sonoma County’s diverse growing regions.

The celebration extended into Healdsburg through a series of Vintner Pop-Ups that connected Alexander Valley wineries with local businesses. Thirteen scheduled tasting opportunities over six days introduced guests to local wines while encouraging them to dine, stay, and explore the region.

Alexander Valley Wines Throughout Healdsburg

Participating hospitality partners hosted special Vintner Pop-Ups throughout the week, including Lo & Behold, El Milagro, The Matheson, Hotel Trio, Jimtown, and Wildhaven.

These collaborations gave visitors opportunities to meet the people behind the wines in relaxed hospitality settings while introducing new audiences to participating Healdsburg businesses.

A Positive Impact for Wineries and the Community

Preliminary post-event survey results from eight participating wineries reported more than 300 winery guests, at least 15 new wine club memberships, and more than $19,000 in quantifiable wine sales during the week. These figures reflect only the wineries that responded to the survey and do not capture the event’s full reach or additional interactions through the Vintner Pop-Ups.

Visitors traveled from throughout California, across the United States, and internationally, and participating wineries reported that guests stayed in local hotels and accommodations.

Feedback from wineries and visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with guests expressing appreciation for the opportunity to meet growers and winemakers, experience the vineyards firsthand, and connect with the agricultural community behind Alexander Valley wines.
