An exclusive limited edition of Barolo Monfalletto 2022 bringing together wine, art and illustrated storytelling through the vision of artist Boban Pesov
September 28, 2026 (La Morra, Italy) — There is a line that crosses time, connecting memory and the future while telling a story rooted in land, family and creativity. This is the idea behind “Il Tratto”, the new project by Cantina Cordero di Montezemolo: a limited edition of Barolo Monfalletto 2022 that brings together the worlds of wine and art through a collaboration with artist and illustrator Boban Pesov. At the heart of the work is a figure inspired by Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo, the protagonist of a journey spanning more than seventy years of projects, passions and visions – from agriculture to architecture, from technical drawing to racing cars.
“With Il Tratto, we wanted to tell the story of Barolo Monfalletto through a different language, one that goes beyond the tasting experience. This project was born from our desire to share our family history, our values and our deep connection with the Langhe through an experience that brings together wine, art and culture,” says Alberto Cordero di Montezemolo. “My grandfather Paolo always believed that wine was culture before it was a product, and this limited edition is the expression of that vision: transforming a bottle into a story capable of speaking to people through emotions, images and memory.”
To bring this story to life, the family chose Boban Pesov, an artist and illustrator known for a distinctive style that combines imagination, narrative precision and strong visual impact. His ability to create worlds suspended between memory and the future, reality and imagination, made him the ideal partner to translate into images the identity of a family that has lived and worked in the Langhe and dedicated itself to Barolo for generations. Through his distinctive line, the landscape, people and values of the winery become part of a contemporary narrative in which art and wine engage in a natural dialogue.
“From the very beginning, there was a wonderful connection with Boban, both on a personal and professional level. He shares our love for the Langhe and has a deep understanding of this territory, its landscapes and its values. We were looking for an artist who would not simply illustrate a story, but who could enter into it and make it his own. Boban succeeded in doing this with great naturalness, transforming our family’s memories, passions and visions into images capable of speaking to the heart. In his distinctive line, we found the balance between memory and the future that lies at the very heart of the project: Il Tratto,” says Elena Cordero di Montezemolo.
“When I began working on the project, I wanted to tell a story that went beyond wine. I immersed myself in the stories, symbols, places and values that have accompanied Cantina Cordero di Montezemolo for generations. Each line of the drawing became a connection between memory and the future, between human work and nature. The line is the starting point of every vision, and in this project it became the thread running through a journey that encompasses the vineyards, the winery, the family and the land.”
“Il Tratto” represents the meeting of two forms of expression: that of Cordero di Montezemolo’s vineyards and that of art. The illustrations created by Boban Pesov accompany the viewer into a world suspended between reality and imagination, where the landscape of the Langhe meets the graphic line and the identity of one of the winery’s iconic wines.
More than just a bottle, “Il Tratto” is therefore a visual story presented in an exclusive collector’s box containing three bottles of Barolo Monfalletto 2022, designed to take wine lovers and collectors on a journey through memory, imagination and identity.
