Pontelatone Celebrates Its Signature Grape Varieties: On July 3, 4 and 5, the Festival Dedicated to Casavecchia and Pallagrello Returns
MORE THAN TWENTY WINERIES TO TAKE CENTER STAGE IN THE HISTORIC TOWN CENTRE FOR AN EDITION INCREASINGLY FOCUSED ON THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD AND WINE EXPERIENCE
June 18, 2026 (Pontelatone, Italy) — Three days dedicated to the great wines of the area, the signature grape varieties of the Upper Caserta region, and outstanding local gastronomy. From July 3 to 5, the Casavecchia & Pallagrello Wine Festival returns to Pontelatone (Caserta). The event is organized by the Pontelatone Pro Loco, chaired by Lorenzo Monaco, in collaboration with the Casavecchia Wine Route of Pontelatone, led by Andrea Granito, under the patronage of the Municipality of Pontelatone and with the support of AIS Campania and the AIS Caserta Delegation.

The 2026 edition marks an important step forward in the festival’s growth path, with a significant increase in participation from wine producers. More than twenty wineries will be present, compared to thirteen in the previous edition, a result that reflects the growing interest in an event that has established itself over the years as a key occasion for promoting the Casavecchia and Pallagrello grape varieties and the territory from which they originate.
This achievement is also the result of the work carried out by the Casavecchia Wine Route of Pontelatone and the joint promotional activities undertaken by local wineries. The first-ever Anteprima Casavecchia e Pallagrello, held earlier this year, helped build greater collective awareness around these two grape varieties, strengthening collaboration among producers and fostering a shared commitment to presenting themselves to the public as expressions of a single territorial identity.
The wineries participating in the 2026 edition will be: Alois, Vigne Chigi, Sclavia, Cantina di Lisandro, Laboris Catrame, Masseria Piccirillo, Tenuta Pezzapane, Le Fontanelle, Il Verro, Scaramuzzo, Canestrini, Sergio Sagliocco, Domus Vinaria, Viticoltori del Casavecchia, Vestini Campagnano, Selvanova, Le Ghiandaie, Gravina, Melone and Civittolo.
The event format is also evolving, with a new layout designed to further enhance the visitor experience. The heart of the festival will be Piazza Cavour, in the historic centre of Pontelatone, entirely dedicated to wineries and tasting counters, creating a more intimate setting tailored to wine enthusiasts and industry professionals interested in deepening their knowledge of local wines.
For this edition, the traditional wooden chalet-style stands will be replaced by tasting counters, allowing wineries to showcase their wines more effectively and encouraging a more direct tasting experience. The rest of the village will host the food area, featuring a carefully selected and widespread gastronomic offering. Restaurateurs and food operators will present local dishes and specialties according to shared quality standards, further strengthening the connection between wine, local cuisine and territorial culture.
The programme will also include an important conference entitled “Pontelatone: Wine as an Expression of Territorial Identity”, focusing on topics such as archaeology, traditions and excellence in local production.
“Our goal,” explain the organizers, “is not to grow in numbers, but to improve the quality of the experience we offer visitors every year. We are working to ensure that the Casavecchia & Pallagrello Wine Festival becomes an increasingly important reference point for those wishing to discover these extraordinary grape varieties and the territory that preserves them. The 2026 edition represents a significant step forward thanks to the synergy developed with the Wine Route and the involvement of a growing number of wineries.”
For three days, Pontelatone will become a major showcase for the wine culture of the Upper Caserta region, offering visitors the opportunity to taste some of the most significant expressions of Casavecchia and Pallagrello, meet producers in person, and enjoy an authentic experience combining wine, gastronomy and local culture.
