September 9, 2026 (Sonoma, CA) — Anaba Wines is delighted to announce the release of its 2025 Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Albariño, created with the same care, character, and quality that define Anaba wines. The release also introduces a new tasting flight that gives guests the opportunity to experience the wine on its own and in three different expressions with thoughtfully crafted botanical mixers from Healdsburg-based Land + Local.

Wine Without Compromise
Anaba set out to create an alcohol-removed wine using quality ingredients and a wine-first approach, with no sugar, artificial ingredients, or additives. The 2025 Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Albariño begins with Sonoma Valley Albariño, crafted with the same attention to detail that defines Anaba’s wine program. The alcohol is then gently removed, followed by an infusion of carefully selected organic herbs and wild-harvested botanicals to complement the wine’s natural character.
Award-winning Anaba winemaker Katy Wilson gave the project thoughtful consideration to ensure the finished wine met the same standards she applies to the rest of the Anaba portfolio.
“We wanted to approach this as we would any other wine: start with quality fruit, pay attention to the details, and never compromise on what goes into the bottle,” said Wilson. “Creating something in this space without artificial ingredients or sugar was a real challenge, and that was important to me from the beginning. I wanted every ingredient to have a purpose and to complement the wine rather than mask it. That’s why collaborating with Kim LaVere of Land + Local was such a natural fit. She approaches her own products with tremendous care, integrity, and respect for quality, and that shared philosophy was important to us. I’m really proud of the result.”
The resulting alcohol-removed wine is bright and aromatic, with fresh citrus, green apple, and white peach, balanced by crisp acidity, fine bubbles, and subtle coastal salinity. Botanical notes complement the wine with fresh citrus, delicate herbs, and a subtle savory character, creating a refreshing, balanced finish.
A New Way to Experience the Wine
The alcohol-removed wine was created in response to a growing interest among Anaba guests in high-quality options for occasions when they choose not to drink alcohol.
“We started noticing from our visitors that there was a real need for something beyond our traditional wines,” said Anaba Proprietor John Sweazey. “We have groups coming to the winery for celebrations, gatherings, and corporate outings where not everyone is drinking alcohol. We wanted to have something we could offer that still represented Anaba, something thoughtful, well made and equally festive.”
The winery created a new tasting flight that invites guests to experience the 2025 Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Albariño on its own, followed by three expressions created with Land + Local mixers: Blood Orange Fennel, Rose Cardamom Meyer Lemon, and Hibiscus Ginger. Just a small amount of each mixer changes the aromatics and flavors of the wine, offering a different experience while keeping the wine at the center of the tasting. The 2025 Alcohol-Removed Sparkling Albariño is available for $36 per bottle at Anaba and online, and the new tasting flight is $45, the same price as Anaba’s Elements Flight.”
The mixers are created by Land + Local, a Healdsburg-based botanical beverage company focused on thoughtfully sourced ingredients and crafted botanical blends. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to quality, intentional ingredients, and a thoughtful approach to what goes into the finished product.
“We wanted to meet our customers where they are,” said Michelle Hogan, Marketing & Brand Director. “Wine has always been about bringing people together and sharing time with one another. People are choosing to drink less or not drink alcohol for many different reasons, and we wanted to create an experience where everyone can still be part of that moment. The flight is about giving people options while keeping wine and the sense of community it creates at the center.”
Much like a traditional wine flight, the experience allows guests to compare the subtle differences from one pour to the next. The botanical mixers shift the wine’s aromatics and flavor profile while maintaining its refreshing character. It gives guests the opportunity to explore the different expressions and find the one they enjoy most.
An Inclusive Vibe in Carneros
The new tasting experience builds on Anaba’s reputation as one of the region’s friendliest and most inclusive destinations. The Anaba Wines Vintners House Tasting Room was voted Best Tasting Room in the 2025 Sonoma Valley People’s Choice Awards, thanks to its unique blend of excellent hospitality and casual charm.
Guests can enjoy the tasting on Anaba’s beautiful hillside patio or inside the Vintners House. Overlooking the vineyards, the Vintners House is a relaxed setting designed intentionally to feel like an extension of the Sweazey home. True to this welcoming philosophy, the winery remains a family-friendly and dog-friendly property, where visitors can complement their tasting with house-made pizza Thursday through Sunday, small plates daily, and a casual game of bocce. There’s even a pickleball court on the grounds.

About Anaba Wines
Located at the gateway of the famed Carneros region in the Sonoma Valley, Anaba Wines is an example of the region’s unique terroir and the power of nature. The winery’s name, “Anaba,” is derived from the anabatic winds that grace Sonoma’s Carneros and Petaluma Gap regions, drawing a parallel to the mistral winds of the Rhône Valley.
Founded in 2006 by proprietor John Sweazey, Anaba is inspired by the generational traditions of winemaking and a deep appreciation for the land that John discovered during his French wine region travels. Anaba is dedicated to sustainability: in 2009, Anaba became the first winery in Northern California to install a wind turbine. Complemented by solar panel installations, the winery operates on 100% renewable electricity, and guests can utilize the complimentary EV chargers in the parking lot while visiting the tasting room.
