Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato at Vinitaly: From “Sinfonia Barbera” to the Launch of the 80th Anniversary Celebrations

April 7, 2026 (Costigliole d’Asti, Italy)Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato will be attending the forthcoming edition of Vinitaly with a programme of initiatives designed to showcase the area’s viticultural heritage and to strengthen the connection between wine, local communities and tourism. Among the scheduled events, on Sunday 12 April from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm, a conference dedicated to the “Sinfonia Barbera” project will take place within the institutional area of the Piedmont Region, Hall 10 Stand E3. The initiative brings together a number of the leading events across the territory devoted to Barbera d’Asti.

“Vinitaly represents a crucial opportunity for discussion and exchange every year, particularly at this delicate time for the global wine sector,” comments Filippo Mobrici, President of Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato. “It is a valuable occasion to meet operators, importers and stakeholders from all over the world, but also to share the story of how our appellations are evolving and of the work being carried out locally to enhance their value. This year we also return with a dedicated institutional space, where visitors will be able to discover 40 labels from 21 member wineries. This is an important moment to present, in a collective way, the richness and diversity of our production. The “Sinfonia Barbera” project was created precisely with the aim of strengthening this shared narrative. Promoted by the Consorzio together with six local municipalities, the initiative celebrates Barbera d’Asti and its close relationship with the landscape, local communities and cultural heritage through a series of promotional moments. In a context where the value of wine tourism is increasingly recognised, the Consorzio aims to act as a promoter and point of connection between territories, local authorities and producers, helping to make this appellation ever more attractive and clearly recognisable. 2026 is also a particularly significant year, as the Consorzio celebrates its 80th anniversary, a milestone we look upon with pride, but above all as a starting point for continuing to strengthen the positioning of Barbera d’Asti and Monferrato wines in international markets.”

The “Sinfonia Barbera” project was created with the aim of enhancing and coordinating the many events dedicated to the Barbera d’Asti appellation, by linking together some of the most representative municipalities in the area and their long standing wine festivals. The Consorzio plays a central coordinating role, with the objective of streamlining the calendar of initiatives, avoiding overlaps and at the same time strengthening communication and promotional activities linked to the appellation. The programme will open in Nizza Monferrato with “Nizza è Barbera” on 8, 9, 10 and 11 May 2026, followed by Montegrosso d’Asti with “Divin Mongröss” on 15 and 16 May 2026. The journey will then continue in Castagnole delle Lanze with the “Festa della Barbera” on 22, 23 and 24 May 2026, and in Agliano Terme with the “Barbera Fish Festival” on 28, 29, 30 and 31 May 2026. In June, San Damiano d’Asti will host “La Barbera incontra” on 12, 13 and 14 June 2026, while the autumn programme will conclude in Costigliole d’Asti with “Rosso Barbera” on 30 and 31 October and 1 and 2 November 2026.

A calendar which, like a true “territorial symphony”, guides wine lovers and visitors on a journey through the hills of Monferrato, combining tastings, meetings, music and gastronomic experiences, and helping to strengthen the area’s appeal for wine tourism.

The project also forms part of the rich programme of initiatives planned for 2026 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Consorzio, an important milestone that will be marked through events, institutional moments and promotional activities designed to tell the story and evolution of one of Piedmont’s flagship appellations.

Through these initiatives, Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato reaffirms its commitment to promoting an appellation that brings together tradition, dynamism and a strong connection with its territory, while looking to the future with an increasingly international perspective.
