Living Under the Palisades: Celebrating Community at the Calistoga Ag Fair & Wine Competition

March 12, 2026 — Living in the Napa Valley on property surrounded by vineyards, just beneath the majestic Palisades Mountains, is something truly special. The rolling rows of vines, the morning fog lifting off the valley floor, and the golden sunsets over the hills remind us daily why this place is so treasured. It’s a landscape rooted in agriculture, hard work, and a deep connection to the land.

That spirit comes alive every year on Saturday of Memorial Weekend at the Calistoga Fairgrounds; this year’s free event is on May 23rd from 2-8 PM.  The Calistoga Ag Fair & Wine Competition is a celebration of the region’s agricultural heritage and the people who make it thrive. Farmers, vintners, families, and visitors gather to enjoy the traditions that define this valley.

The event showcases local agriculture, including the renowned wine competition that highlights the craftsmanship of area winemakers. Guests can explore exhibits, connect with locals, and celebrate the industry that has made Napa Valley known around the world.

But the fair is about more than wine. It’s about community. Families can enjoy live music, free activities for kids, and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects small-town character. One of the evening highlights is the classic truck and tractor pulls, where the sounds of engines and cheering crowds bring an old-fashioned fairground excitement to life.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Palisades, the Calistoga Ag Fair reminds us of our roots. It celebrates the vineyards, the farmers, and the families who continue to care for this land.

Whether you’ve lived here for generations or are visiting for the first time, the Calistoga Ag Fair & Wine Competition is a chance to gather, celebrate, and enjoy the beauty and bounty of Napa Valley.
