September 22, 2026 — The New York Sun today announced that Lettie Teague, the longtime wine columnist of The Wall Street Journal, has joined the paper in the same role.
Teague held the position at the Journal for sixteen years where she drew readers for her plainspoken intelligence about what is worth drinking and why. She will now write weekly on wine for the Sun’s Arts+ pages, both online and in print.
Few American wine writers have been read as widely, or as loyally, as Teague. Prior to joining the Wall Street Journal she was the longtime wine columnist and executive wine editor of Food & Wine magazine. She has won three James Beard Awards and was inducted into the Wine Media Hall of Fame in 2015.
“I’ve been the wine columnist for two well-established publications – The Wall Street Journal and Food & Wine magazine – I’m looking forward to writing about wine for another long established publication (193 years old as of this announcement) as it returns to the national stage,” said Teague.
Tom Teodorczuk, Arts+ editor of the Sun, said, “Lettie writes about wine the way the best critics write about their chosen subjects. Not only does she know more about wine than most people have forgotten, she never forgets the person holding the glass. We’re lucky to have her.”
Her first column for the Sun will debut in October.
