College and University Students Can Now Enjoy the Full Tasting Flight
for Just $10 with a Valid Student ID

March 4, 2026 (Paso Robles, CA) — McPrice Myers Wines is proud to announce the launch of a new Student Tasting Program, designed to make wine tasting more accessible to college and university students while helping support and inspire those interested in studying and pursuing careers in the wine and hospitality industry.
Students who present a current, valid student ID from any accredited college or university and are 21+ can now enjoy the winery’s standard tasting flight for a $10 tasting fee, a significant savings compared to the winery’s standard $25 tasting fee. The student tasting experience includes the same wines and service offered to all guests, reinforcing McPrice Myers Wines commitment to quality, education, and inclusivity.
The $10 tasting fee can be waived with a $45 wine purchase, compared to the standard $75 purchase required to waive a regular tasting fee.
Tasting fees across many wine regions have increased in recent years, creating a higher financial barrier for students interested in participating, including those studying wine, agriculture, hospitality, or business. The Student Tasting Program is designed to help remove that financial barrier and create more opportunities for students to experience wine in a real-world tasting room setting.
“My mentor at Trader Joe’s gave me a chance to taste and learn about wine when I was starting out. This is my way of paying that forward,” said McPrice “Mac” Myers, Founder and Winemaker. “If we can introduce students to wine early, make them feel comfortable in a tasting room, and spark their curiosity, we’re investing in the future of this industry.”
In addition to the $10 Student Tasting Program available to all college and university students age 21+, McPrice Myers Wines will offer complimentary tastings for students currently enrolled in Wine and Viticulture programs, further supporting hands on education and industry development.
Adrienne Ferrara, Lecturer in the Wine and Viticulture Department at California Polytechnic State University, shared her support for the initiative:
“I recently had a discussion with my Cal Poly seniors asking why they weren’t out tasting more frequently. The students suggested that they really struggle with the cost of tasting. But we in the industry know that tasting isn’t just about what you can buy tonight, but it’s about learning more about wine and wines from this region. This experience should be for all! I’m so thrilled that McPrice Myers Wines is welcoming and engaging our youngest wine drinkers to share the industry that we love so much.”
The new program reflects a long-term investment in both the future of McPrice Myers Wines and the broader wine community. By welcoming students into the tasting room environment early, the winery aims to build meaningful, lasting relationships with younger consumers and emerging wine professionals while creating brand familiarity that carries forward as students graduate, enter the workforce, and become lifelong wine consumers.
The winery also sees the initiative as a way to support students exploring careers in winemaking, viticulture, wine business, hospitality, and wine sales by giving them access to hands on tasting experiences that complement classroom learning.
The Student Tasting Program is available now at the McPrice Myers Wines tasting room during regular business hours. Valid student ID must be presented at check in.
