DaVero Farms & Winery Offers Worms to Wine Workshop

February 12, 2026 (Healdsburg, CA) — On March 1, 2026 DaVero Farms & Winery kicks off its new Hands-on Workshop Series with Worms to Wine: the Flavor of Compost.

Led by Farm Manager Andrew Beebe and Soil Keeper Michael Presley, participants in this hands-on composting workshop will learn – and taste – how soil impacts flavor, and the essential role of compost.

This three-hour experience explores how microbes, worms, and organic matter work together to create rich, resilient soil – and how that living system shapes our wine and olive oils.

The morning blends short classroom sessions with hands-on practice on the farm. Participants will come away with practical knowledge they can implement themselves. And they’ll actually be able to taste how aromatics influenced by living soils are expressed in the glass via two of our estate wines.

Whether someone is composting in their backyard garden or managing land on a larger scale, this workshop offers practical, take-home guidance that can be put to use right away – rooted in the same composting practices we adapt and refine as we listen to the needs of our own farm.

Attendance is limited to just 22 people.

About DaVero Farms & Winery
Founded in 1990, DaVero is rooted in organic and Biodynamic farming in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley. We grow climate-proven Italian grape varieties—including Sangiovese, Sagrantino, Montepulciano, and Pallagrello Bianco—on our vineyards, in soils teeming with life, including the site-specific yeasts and bacteria we rely on to carry out fermentation. Today, we produce approximately 3,500 cases annually, sold exclusively direct-to-consumer. Our farms also include thousands of Tuscan olive trees, thriving gardens, and diverse habitats, reflecting our farming philosophy that nurtures our land and our community, which in turn nurture us.
