Autumn’s Charm Meets the Finest Wines of Taste Alto Piemonte in Stresa

A story that unfolds through masterclasses, food and wine experiences, and collaborations that bring together flavors, nature, sport, and unique moments.

October 17, 2025 (Ghemme – Novara, Italy) — The colors of wine return to Lake Maggiore this autumn with the eighth edition of Taste Alto Piemonte, the foremost event dedicated to the appellations of Alto Piemonte, to be held on November 9–10, 2025, at the iconic Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées in Stresa.

Organized by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte, the event reaffirms its role as a leading showcase for a region that unites striking landscapes, winemaking heritage, and a wine identity of remarkable elegance.

Over the two days, the Grand Hotel’s splendid halls will host more than fifty producers representing the ten protected denominations — from Gattinara to Ghemme, Lessona to Boca — offering visitors a sensory exploration of the volcanic soils and microclimates that define the unique Nebbiolos of Alto Piemonte.

“An event of this significance represents a fundamental opportunity to promote our territory and its denominations, not only at a national level but also beyond our borders, reaching Switzerland, Germany, and France,” says Andrea FontanaPresident of the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte. “Thanks to the collaborations established, Taste Alto Piemonte becomes a widespread event that, in addition to the two days of tastings on Lake Maggiore, extends throughout the month of November, offering a truly unique experience.

Bringing Taste Alto Piemonte to the shores of Lake Maggiore is a strong message: it reflects a territory that is increasingly open to dialogue with a broader and more international audience,” adds Vice President Lorella Zoppis

This eighth edition will not only showcase the many facets of our denominations but also offer the chance to experience Alto Piemonte in an authentic and immersive way — through a series of events, collaborations, and experiences that express the vitality of our winemaking community.”

The Stresa event will open on Sunday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and continue on Monday, November 10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., featuring tasting tables open to the press, trade professionals, and wine enthusiasts.

Alongside the tastings — curated by AIS Piemonte — five masterclasses will offer in-depth explorations of Nebbiolos and other native grape varieties: four focused on Alto Piemonte and one organized in collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vini del Sannio, the special guest of this edition.
This encounter between the two wine regions will create a unique dialogue between North and South, united by a shared desire to celebrate the strong sense of identity that defines Italy’s territories.

Within the event, a temporary wine shop will be set up, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase the wines featured in the tastings. At the tasting tables, producers will share their stories and experiences, highlighting the deep connection that unites wine, land, and community.
For industry professionals, access to the tasting area will be free of charge upon registration on the event’s official website, where an accreditation code can be obtained, or directly on-site during the event.

This year, Taste Alto Piemonte also expands with a series of widespread initiatives designed to engage both the territory and the public in a collective experience. From October 27 to November 9, the Wine Weeks will enliven restaurants, osterias, wine bars, and wine shops across the provinces of Novara, Vercelli, Biella, and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, where the wines of the Alto Piemonte denominations will be offered by the glass and on the wine list — transforming the entire region into a true itinerary of taste.

There will also be special collaborations that weave together the worlds of wine, tourism, sport, and nature. Thanks to a partnership with the Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway, travelers on the famous Treno del Foliage will enjoy a discount on admission to the event by presenting their train ticket at the entrance, an ideal bridge between the colors of autumn and the aromas of wine.

The Lago Maggiore Marathon will also be part of the program: participants will find a complimentary voucher in their race kit, granting free access to Taste Alto Piemonte on the morning of Sunday, November 9 — blending the adrenaline of the race with the pleasure of a glass of wine.

With the support of the Piedmont Region and under the patronage of the Municipality of Stresa, the Chamber of Commerce Monte Rosa Laghi Alto Piemonte, the Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, and the ATL Terre dell’Alto Piemonte (Novara office)Taste Alto Piemonte 2025 confirms itself as a prestigious showcase for the wine culture of Northern Piedmont.

Enartis will be the main sponsor of the event, while La Stampa newspaper will serve as its official media partner

Among the technical partners are AIS Piemonte, Ferrovia Vigezzina-Centovalli, RINA, Caleffi Hydronic Solutions, Wolf System, Amorim Cork Italia, Fratelli Francoli Distillerie, Acqua Valverde, and Assicusio — all companies that share a common commitment to promoting and enhancing the region’s identity.

Today, more than ever, Taste Alto Piemonte is a collective story: a celebration of a mosaic of hills and vineyards suspended between the Alps and the lake, where Nebbiolo and native grape varieties give life to wines of profound elegance and identity. The event renews the bond between producers, community, and landscape, reaffirming the central role of Alto Piemonte in Italy’s wine scene.
