From Legacy to Leadership: Honoring the People Who Create Memorable Guest Experiences and Those Who Will Define the Industry’s Future

June 11, 2026 (Santa Rosa, CA) — On June 10, 2026, Sonoma County Tourism (SCT) proudly celebrated the recipients of its 2026 Stars of the Industry Awards, recognizing the outstanding individuals, businesses, and organizations that exemplify excellence in hospitality, tourism, stewardship, and community impact.

This year’s celebration carried a powerful theme: honoring the legacy of those who helped build Sonoma County into a world-class destination while recognizing the emerging leaders who will shape its future. From frontline hospitality professionals and visionary leaders to community champions and the next generation of industry talent, the 2026 honorees represent the people who make Sonoma County a welcoming, vibrant, and memorable place to visit.

The evening featured the introduction of a new award category, the Accredited Hospitality Professional (AHP) Future Hospitality Leader Scholarship. The inaugural award was presented to Link Bunker, a recent graduate of Rancho Cotate High School, who plans to pursue a career in hospitality. Along with the recognition, Bunker received a $1,000 scholarship to support his educational journey. The award reflects Sonoma County’s commitment to developing the next generation of hospitality professionals and investing in the future of an industry that plays a vital role in the region’s economy and quality of life.

“Hospitality is ultimately about people, and this year’s honorees tell the story of where Sonoma County has been and where it is headed,” said Claudia Vecchio, president and CEO of Sonoma County Tourism. “We are celebrating often unsung employees who tirelessly elevate the customer experience alongside leaders whose contributions have built and shaped our destination for decades. Together, they represent the spirit of hospitality that defines Sonoma County.”
