Pergolaia 2020 by Caiarossa: The Elegance of Summer in a Glass

Fresh, vibrant, and deeply rooted in its territory, Pergolaia 2020 captures the essence of summer days, blending relaxation and conviviality

August 7, 2025 (Riparbella, Pisa, Italy) — This Sangiovese-based blend, grown in vineyards overlooking the sea, embodies a modern and refined style—perfect even for the warmest moments of the season. Its light, dynamic structure makes it ideal to enjoy slightly chilled, without compromising the elegance of a great red wine.

On the nose, it releases aromas of red berries, citrus, and delicate floral notes. On the palate, it opens up into a journey of balance and freshness. A pleasant acidity and harmonious body make it perfect for summer dinners, open-air aperitifs, carefree picnics, or simply shared moments of relaxation.

Pergolaia 2020 is born to reinterpret Tuscan tradition with a contemporary twist. Alongside Sangiovese, the blend includes small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, aged for 12 months in large oak barrels. The result is a wine that enchants with its enveloping softness and lively character.

It’s ideal pairing? Seasonal Mediterranean dishes—such as pappa al pomodoro—where the wine’s freshness matches the acidity of the tomato, while the natural sweetness of the bread complements its structure: a subtle balance between brightness and roundness.

Each bottle reflects Caiarossa’s commitment to sustainability and vineyard care, expressing the authentic identity of its land. Pergolaia 2020 is now available in the finest wine shops and directly at the estate—ready to win over even the most discerning palates with its immediacy and finesse.

A wine designed for everyday enjoyment, capable of turning every moment into a small celebration of summer.

About Caiarossa
In the hills near the medieval village of Riparbella, on Tuscany’s coastal heights, nature reveals both strength and serenity. Lush vegetation, fruit trees, olive groves, vegetables and aromatic plants bring to life the colors, scents, and wonders of a unique territory – the land where Caiarossa stands. A magical light by day, created by the reflection of the sun’s rays on the distant sea, and a starry sky by night – this captivating atmosphere embraces the winery, red like the center of the earth, resting on the southwest slope of the hill. It was in 2004 that Eric Albada Jelgersma decided to purchase an estate in this special part of Italy, bringing with him the expertise he had developed over the years in Bordeaux with Château Giscours, a renowned Grand Cru Classé in the Margaux appellation. Eric Albada fell in love with this small yet beautiful winery, nestled in the Mediterranean scrub on the western slope of a hill overlooking the sea. Today, his children Dennis, Derk, and Valérie continue in their father’s footsteps, striving for the utmost precision in winemaking. This pursuit is centered on maintaining a deep connection with nature’s rhythms. That’s why, from its inception, the winery has followed the principles of biodynamic agriculture, aiming to enhance the vitality and resilience of the soil. Caiarossa wines are unique: refined blends that balance experimentation with harmony.
