Discover white wines from around the world and expressions of Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Chenin Blanc from producers near and far
Boonville, CA (January 22, 2025) – White wine is having its moment, and here in Anderson Valley we are celebrating these wines of character in a big way: an international festival of white wine! It is the only event of its kind, and the Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association is inviting producers of a range of white wine varieties from around the world to descend on our little valley the weekend of February 15-16, 2025 at the Mendocino Fairgrounds in Boonville. The main event is our International White Wine Festival Grand Tasting on Saturday, February 15 from 12-3 p.m. with a VIP entrance at 11 a.m.

Anderson Valley produces a range of extraordinary white wines, including Alsatian varietals Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Blanc; Burgundian and Bordeaux classics like Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc – both still and sparkling. But, we are always learning, so we invited producers from around the world to join in the fun.
Visit the Maisons Marques & Domaines and the Regal Wine Co. tables to taste wines from France, Italy and Spain and specific regions like Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and Alsace. Canada also makes an appearance! Discover the Iberian Peninsula with Wine & Spirits Purveyors (WASP) who will showcase their best wines from Spain and Portugal made from grapes like Viura, Verdejo, Garnacha Blanca, Pedro Ximenez and Pansal.
The International White Wine Festival is also a rare opportunity to explore Wines of Mexico by Vinitacora and the country’s top regions: Baja California (Valle de Guadalupe), Queretaro, Coahuila, Guanajuato (Valle de la Independencia) and San Miguel de Allende. Last, Northern California special guests Marchelle Wines & Spur Road Wines will make an appearance, sharing their love for small lot winemaking.
And, if that’s not enough, some of the top wine writers and educators will be manning tables dedicated to just one varietal. In this case, we have three of the top whites with Riesling, Chenin Blanc and Gewurztraminer and an opportunity to taste how they are made in different wine regions worldwide – and even other states. Ever try a Riesling from Colorado or New York?
If that is not enough, we came up with a few compelling reasons to join us February 15-16, 2025:
TOP FIVE REASONS TO ATTEND THE INTERNATIONAL WHITE WINE FESTIVAL:
- You drink mostly whites anyway—admit it. So come to a fest that caters to your actual beverage love.
- Anderson Valley in February presents one of the most complete palettes of green you’ll ever see—from chartreuse to pine and a pale green/brown you’ll see on the moss—it will blow your socks off.
- Winemakers have become rockstars and at most events it’s impossible to get to the table—enjoy an ACTUAL several-minute conversation with a winemaker at this festival who ferments fruit into hipster goo.
- The food at the event rocks, is delicious, works well with the acid, fruit and affordability of white wines—you know, everyday food.
- California needs white wines. Climate change favors them—water needs, heat and disease resistance and yields. Your pocketbook favors them. Your food choices favor them.
