Sonoma, Calif. December 18, 2023 – Bartholomew Estate Winery, producer of estate wines from the birthplace of California viticulture located in the heart of Sonoma Valley, announced today that Rebecca Geschwender has joined the team as Director of Hospitality.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rebecca as our Director of Hospitality at Bartholomew Estate Winery,” stated Keith LaVine, President and General Manager. “Her extensive experience, coupled with her creative and enthusiastic approach, will better position us to tell the story of the Bartholomew Estate wine brand and Bartholomew Park, the place we call home.”

As a small estate producer, whose mission is to continue the legacy of the Bartholomews’ commitment to sustainable viticulture, there is a tremendous opportunity to share the history of the special estate and the wines produced from there. Geschwender will focus on growing sales in all areas of the company including food and wine experiences, as well as small-scale events.

Geschwender’s wine industry experience spans two decades and includes the prestigious wine companies of Grgich Hills Estate Winery and Rutherford Wine Company, as well as Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines where she was consistently a leader in sales performance.  “I look forward to celebrating the history of the property and sharing its sustainable wines through warm hospitality,” said Geschwender.

Bartholomew Estate Winery opened its doors in April of 2019 as a new winery in the heart of the 375-acre Bartholomew Park in Sonoma Valley, California. Bartholomew Estate was formed by Anna Pope, as Trustee of the Frank H. Bartholomew Foundation (owner and operator of the non-profit Bartholomew Park), and noted Winemaker, Kevin Holt, to honor the legacy of Frank and Antonia Bartholomew. In 1943, the Bartholomews purchased the land, only to discover that it was the birthplace of California viticulture; the center of Count Agoston Harazthy’s rancho that contained the sites of his residence and original winery. Today, the winery continues the Bartholomews’ mission to create exquisite wines from the iconic location, to share information on California winemaking and viticulture and to support Bartholomew Park, as the incomparable community treasure it is.
