At Premiere Napa Valley Auction, conducted by Sotheby’s, Over The Weekend 2nd Highest Selling Lot Of The Auction
LOS ANGELES- March 1st, 2023- TOR Napa Valley, an iconic producer of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay is proud to announce, 2021 TOR ‘The Centennial’ Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, a one-of-a-kind five case lot, sold for 80K at the Premiere Napa Valley wine auction over the weekend in St. Helena. Their wine was one of only three that reached over $1000 a bottle. Andy Beckstoffer and Tor Kenward are pictured at top.
The Napa Valley Vintners in partnership with Sotheby’s conducted the 27th annual auction in person at The Culinary Institute at Greystone and online. There were 154 micro lots of rare wine from top Napa Valley producers and 53 lots of Vintage Perspective Auction wine. More than 250 trade accounts from 18 countries took part. The auction brought in 3.4 million dollars. All proceeds directly fund programs to promote, protect and enhance Napa Valley.
TOR Wines selectively participated in this auction due to limited production, but they delivered something extraordinarily special. Their lot #134, 2021 TOR ‘The Centennial’ Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, celebrated a century among the vines between Andy Beckstoffer and Tor Kenward. It is a wine that was 100 years in the making.
