NAPA, CA (August 30, 2022) – The Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) and Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation (FWF) hosted their 15th annual Harvest STOMP fundraiser this past Saturday night, August 27, at Oscar and Denise Renteria’s 360 Vineyard in Oakville, CA.  2022 Auction Chairs, Oscar and Denise Renteria, owners of Tres Perlas Wines and Renteria Vineyard Management, and John and Michele Truchard, owners of JaM Cellars and FARM Napa Valley Vineyard Management, brought together those with a shared passion for the preservation of local agriculture, building a legacy for the Napa Valley, and providing life-changing opportunities for Napa’s vineyard workforce.  With the support of a dedicated community of grape growers, vineyard managers, winery owners, wine lovers, and vineyard professionals, Saturday’s event raised a record-breaking $3.3 million for the two organizations.

“Having waited through the pandemic to finally Co-Chair Harvest STOMP with Oscar and Denise Renteria, we couldn’t have hoped for a more successful and rewarding event” said John and Michele Truchard. “It was great to be with people that care so deeply about the Napa Valley and its farmworkers. The generosity shown in this 15th anniversary year of STOMP was unmatched.” “We were honored to host STOMP at our family’s estate in Oakville and to bear witness to the many expressions of gratitude that our community made to the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Farmworkers Foundation. We are proud to see that the intention and outcome of this year’s celebration will continue to perpetuate the legacy of our wine growing culture for years to come” added Oscar and Denise Renteria.

This year’s auction night celebrated the American and migrant farmers, caretakers of the land, and all the families building a legacy for Napa Valley agriculture. To honor this year’s message, a Live Lot featuring Napa Valley grape growing icons, Salvador Renteria, founder of Renteria Vineyard Management and Oscar Renteria’s father, and Andy Beckstoffer, owner of Beckstoffer Vineyards, was auctioned off to the highest bidder.

“To gather with people supporting agriculture, alongside the icons that laid the foundation for Napa Valley agriculture, is what Harvest STOMP is all about,” said Jennifer Putnam, executive director and CEO of the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation, “We gather to raise funds in honor of those that made the Napa Valley Agricultural Preserve possible, and for all those that work every day to protect its future.”

Another highlight of the evening was the annual fund-a-need, which raises critical donations for the NVG and Farmworker Foundation. The funds raised go directly to supporting the preservation of Napa Valley agriculture, advocating for change on issues such as wildfire protection and climate resiliency, and education and professional development for Napa Valley farmworkers. The generosity from supporters shined bright as paddles raised high under the auction night lights.
