Scott Diaz Brings His Brand Marketing Expertise and Leadership to Company During Monumental Growth Period

Napa Valley, CA (July 14, 2021) Demeine Estates, a Napa Valley-based négociant of fine wines, is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Diaz as Senior Vice President, Global Brand Strategy & Marketing.  A wine industry marketing veteran, Scott will be instrumental in providing strategic vision and marketing leadership for Demeine Estates, implementing innovative omni-channel marketing and sales campaigns, along with executing both consumer and trade activations. In addition, Scott will support future business development strategy and recruitment of new producers, both domestic and international. This hiring comes at an exciting growth period for Demeine Estates, as the company welcomed ten fine wine sales leaders to the team last month.

Founded by the Lawrence Family and Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy, Jr., Demeine Estates serves and supports a dynamic and growing portfolio of historic, legacy wineries that share the common goal of producing the most expressive, highest quality wines with a focus on sustainability. As a key member of the executive team, Scott will work closely with Demeine Estates President Philana Bouvier and the direct to guest (DTG) teams at individual estates. Scott will lead initiatives in brand management, price positioning, trade marketing, DTG communications, digital, ecommerce, and event marketing.

“We’re excited to welcome Scott during such an important time of growth for our company,” says Bouvier, President of Demeine Estates. “With his deep industry knowledge, demonstrated work ethic, and commitment to championing the world’s great producers in the wine world, we are confident he will lead with vision, further our modern approach and entrepreneurial spirit of Demeine Estates.”

Scott previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Brand Management for Wilson Daniels.  In 2012, he was selected by founder Jack Daniels to lead the marketing and brand management team, covering a portfolio of forty brands. A few years later he was appointed to oversee the creative services and public relations teams. Scott worked with Wilson Daniels for thirteen years and has successfully developed strategic marketing and budget plans for some of the world’s most iconic properties, including Schramsberg Vineyards, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Biondi-Santi, Royal Tokaji and Ponzi Vineyards.

“I am elated to join this passionate, innovative, and growing team at Demeine Estates,” says Scott. “I look forward to further cultivating a portfolio of wineries that are authentic with a deep sense of place and tradition. Our marketing team is dedicated to highlighting the impressive winemakers, estate directors, and growers and engaging with consumers and members of the trade who are just as passionate about the values of heritage and quality as we are.”

Scott possesses a degree in accounting from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business and has earned multiple trade certifications including Society of Wine Educators’ Certified Specialist of Wine, French Wine Society’s Bordeaux Master Level, WSET Level 2 and The Culinary Institute of America’s Certified Wine Professional.
