La Farra: Family Roots and High-Altitude Viticulture in the Heart of Prosecco Superiore

In the UNESCO landscape of the Prosecco Hills, the Nardi family tells its winemaking story through high-altitude vineyards, Rive crus and a style of hospitality designed to bring visitors closer to the territory’s most authentic identity

September 2, 2026 (Treviso, Italy) — In the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, there are places where wine is born not only from a productive calling, but from a daily relationship with the landscapeLa Farra belongs to this world: a family-run winery rooted in the hills of Farra di Soligo, where the Nardi siblings have turned an agricultural heritage into a project that tells the story of Prosecco Superiore through vineyards, memory and hospitality.

Before the company was officially founded in 1997, and even before the labels existed, there were the rows planted by parents and grandparents, harvests lived as a family, and a firsthand knowledge of the hills built up season after season. From that bond came Adamaria, Innocente and Guido Nardi, three siblings with different skills and a shared vision: to shape a business that stayed true to its origins while being able to engage with international markets and visitors, making its identity recognizable.

Today the company stands as one of the most distinctive expressions of high-altitude viticulture in the UNESCO Prosecco Superiore Hills. Its more than 25 hectares of vineyards, spread across Farra di Soligo, Pieve di Soligo, Follina and San Pietro di Feletto, are managed directly by the family with an approach that combines agronomic precision, sustainability and a deep regard for the landscape.

On the steepest slopes, every task is still carried out entirely by hand, in keeping with the “heroic viticulture” that defines the area. By managing the vineyards directly, the Nardi family oversees every stage closely, from soil care to grape ripening, balancing agronomic expertise, environmental sustainability and respect for the landscape.

Production grows out of this close relationship with the hills. The grapes for Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG come from the estate’s most prized sites, resulting in wines characterised by freshness, balance and aromatic clarity. The Rive of Farra di Soligo hold particular importance: a distinctive designation within the appellation that identifies individual municipalities or hamlets and captures the specific character of their hillsides. For La Farra, the Rive are not simply a geographical indication, but also a precise way of expressing the estate’s ties to Farra di Soligo.

Still, La Farra’s strength lies in its family dimension. Innocente oversees the vineyards and administration, Guido the production and cellar, Adamaria hospitality and international business development. Three different paths, one shared vision: to tell the story of the territory through wines capable of expressing authenticity, harmony and belonging.

In recent years, hospitality has become an increasingly important part of the company’s story. For La Farra, opening the cellar doors means more than presenting its wines – it means guiding visitors through the landscape that gives rise to them. Tastings thus become a moment of discovery: a way to understand the differences between vineyards, the value of manual viticulture, the meaning of the Rive, and the deep connection between Prosecco Superiore and the UNESCO Hills.

“Welcoming a visitor means sharing our way of living in these hills. We want anyone who comes to La Farra to understand where our wines come from: from the vineyards, from daily work, and from a landscape that, for us, is home even before it is an appellation,” says Adamaria Nardi

With an established presence in international markets, from Europe to the United StatesJapan and Australia, La Farra continues its journey today while keeping its bond with Farra di Soligo fully intact. This dual perspective – local roots and openness to the world – is one of the company’s most distinctive traits. The Nardi family carries the name of Prosecco Superiore abroad without giving up its artisanal, territorial and family character.

About La Farra
The Nardi family built the La Farra farm in 1997 in the hills of Farra di Soligo, in the heart of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, where Prosecco becomes Superiore. Run by siblings Adamaria, Innocente and Guido, the estate vinifies grapes from its own vineyards and reflects the attachment to the land and the passion for grape growing that has accompanied the Nardi family for generations. The balance between the culture of this territory, the use of modern winemaking and viticultural techniques, and respect for the environment allows the estate to produce wines of unmistakable elegance and quality.
