July 17, 2026 (McMinnville, OR) — Approachment Wine Company is proud to announce the release of its inaugural sparkling wine, a limited-production 100% Pinot Meunier crafted in the traditional method and released in conjunction with Method Oregon, the annual celebration of Oregon’s world-class sparkling wine producers.
Produced from Willamette Valley Pinot Meunier and aged on the lees for 26 months before disgorgement, the wine represents a significant milestone for Approachment Wine Company and founders Jessica and Paden West. While Approachment has become known for its small-production still wines, the release marks the beginning of a long-term commitment to traditional method sparkling wine production.
“Oregon has quietly become one of the most exciting places in the world for sparkling wine,” said Paden West. “We’ve spent years learning, planning, and investing in this project. Releasing our first sparkling wine alongside Method Oregon feels like the right way to introduce it.”
The inaugural bottling is produced entirely from Pinot Meunier, a variety traditionally associated with Champagne but rarely featured as a standalone sparkling wine in Oregon. The result is a wine that balances vibrant freshness with layered texture, offering both red fruit notes and stone fruit with great floral aromatics.
The release coincides with Approachment’s participation in Method Oregon, an organization dedicated to promoting Oregon’s traditional method sparkling wines and elevating awareness of the state’s growing reputation for premium sparkling wine production.
Only a small quantity of the inaugural release was produced, with club members receiving first access through a limited pre-order before the wine became available to the public.
