Partnering with leaders in sustainability – Enotria, International Wineries for Climate Action (IWCA), Porto Protocol, Regenerative Viticulture Foundation (RVF), The Sustainable Restaurant Association, and Sustainable Wine Solutions – to deliver a competition which focuses on delivering sustainability in the workplace.
July 14, 2026 (London, UK) — Domaine Bousquet has announced a new competition for UK wine professionals which launches this month, designed to inspire the industry to embrace sustainability and create tangible change at grass-roots level, where businesses are consumer-facing. Applications will open today (14th July) and are welcomed from wine industry professionals working across hospitality and retail sectors.
The competition comprises three elements: an initial online test; the implementation of a work-place based sustainability project; and, for up to twenty finalists, a blind tasting. The overall winner will receive a trip for two to Domaine Bousquet’s Gualtallary estate during 2027 harvest. This will be a full immersion into the estate’s regenerative organic and biodynamic practices and will include a winemaker dinner and stay at Domaine Bousquet’s Gaia Lodge, adjacent to the winery, in the heart of the vineyards.
A competition built on action
Wine for the Future requires participants to plan, deliver and document a sustainability project inside their own business – whether that be a restaurant wine list, a hotel beverage programme, an independent wine shop or multiple retailer over a three-month period between July and September 2026. Candidates must be working in the wine trade with the authority to drive a sustainability initiative in their own business. The competition will run in three stages:
Stage 1 — Knowledge Test (online): Timing: 14th July to 15th August
A 38-question multiple-choice assessment covering: organic and biodynamic viticulture; regenerative practices; carbon and climate impact; water stewardship; certifications; and how to communicate sustainability to consumers. A 60% pass mark is required to progress to Stage 2.
Stage 2 — The Workplace Sustainability Project: Timing: 14th July to 30th September
Participants who pass Stage 1 will be invited to design and deliver a customer-facing sustainability initiative in their own workplace (such as an organic wine tasting, a sustainability-themed dinner, or a guest-led workshop) alongside measurable changes to their business. Candidates will be supported throughout this section of the competition, via: online masterclasses; a face-to-face session; one-to-one guidance with the competition team; and an in-person tasting and masterclass with Domaine Bousquet winemaker Rodrigo Serrano. Projects will be scored by the judging panel against four criteria: ambition and relevance; delivery and evidence; commercial impact; and communication quality, ensuring candidates are rewarded for documented, measurable change.
Stage 3 — Prize-giving: Timing: Friday, 23rd October
The top performers will be invited to a blind tasting of four wines in London, and a sustainability masterclass led by Anne Bousquet, Co-CEO, Domaine Bousquet. The overall winner will then be announced at an awards ceremony, immediately after.

The Judging Panel
The Judging Panel includes leading players in sustainability from: Domaine Bousquet (Anne Bousquet, Co-CEO and Lucia Radeljak, Global Sustainability Ambassador); The Sustainable Restaurant Association; Regenerative Viticulture Foundation; Enotria; International Wineries for Climate Action; Porto Protocol; and Sustainable Wine Solutions.
The Prize
First place wins the trip to Mendoza for two, alongside a case of Domaine Bousquet wines, the Wine for the Future certification and a named listing as the Wine for the Future “Class of 2026” winner. Second and third place receive selections from the Domaine Bousquet range. All twenty finalists receive the certification and lapel pin, a public “Class of 2026” listing and an invitation to future Domaine Bousquet “El Salón” trade tastings in the UK. A standalone “Best Taster” award also recognises the top score in the graduation day’s blind tasting. The certification itself carries a unique ID and is designed to be displayed on LinkedIn, CVs, and venue materials.
Commenting Anne Bousquet, Co-CEO, Domaine Bousquet, said: “Wine quality will always come first — that’s non-negotiable. But consumer-facing professionals are uniquely positioned to carry that quality story forward into something more: they are the ones guests trust to explain not just what’s in the glass, but where it came from and what it took to make it well. That makes them some of the best advocates we have for real change in this industry. This competition is built on that belief — give wine professionals the knowledge and the platform, and they become genuine agents of innovation.”
