With the participation of 148 Burgundy estates and wine houses now confirmed, work is underway on the auction catalogue, showcasing the outstanding quality and remarkable diversity of the wines generously contributed for this exceptional charity auction. As Christie’s prepares to launch the online auction, the organisers are unveiling the next key stages of an event that will culminate on 19 September with the live charity auction held during the Gala Dinner at the Château du Clos de Vougeot.

CHRISTIE’S TO CONDUCT THE CHARITY AUCTION
The charity auction will take place in two stages. Online bidding will open on 4 September at 12:00 pm (CEST) and remain open until 19 September, the date of the Charity Gala Dinner at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. Created by Chef Alexandra Bouvret and her brigade, the five-course dinner will showcase the culinary expertise of the Château du Clos de Vougeot. ABOUT THE CLOS DE VOUGEOT FOR CÎTEAUX ABBEY – ACT II CHARITY AUCTION
Launched in 2022 by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and the Fondation du patrimoine (French Heritage Foundation), the «Clos de Vougeot for Cîteaux Abbey» – Act II charity auction brings together Burgundy’s leading wine estates, négociants and industry partners in support of a shared mission: to fund the restoration of the Définitoire, a remarkable 17th-century Cistercian building at Cîteaux Abbey.
Hosted at the Château du Clos de Vougeot and conducted by Christie’s, the auction features outstanding wines, rare cuvées and exclusive experiences generously donated by Burgundy’s leading estates, wine houses and supporting partners.
Open to bidders both in person and online, the event attracts an international audience of collectors and wine enthusiasts. Centred around a Gala Dinner held in the château’s historic Cistercian cellar, it celebrates Burgundy’s unique wine heritage, gastronomy and spirit of generosity. All proceeds from the auction will support the restoration of the Définitoire, which is scheduled to open to the public by 2030.
