Charles Krug Winery Home to Festival Stage Since 2021

May 5, 2026 (Napa, CA) — Festival Napa Valley has announced the election of Peter Mondavi Jr., third-generation co-proprietor of Charles Krug Winery, to its Board of Directors.

Peter Mondavi Jr.

“Over the past 20 years, the Festival has built an extraordinary board of vintners and community leaders deeply committed to the arts and to a thriving Napa Valley,” said Festival Board Chairman Steven Stull. “Peter’s strong connection to the region, his decades of experience, and his long record of community leadership will be invaluable to the board at a time when the arts’ ability to uplift and unite is more important than ever.”

As the grandson of Cesare and Rosa Mondavi, the visionary founders who acquired Charles Krug Winery in 1943, Mondavi has helped carry forward the legacy of the iconic family estate in St. Helena. In addition to guiding major capital improvements and strategic initiatives, he has remained deeply engaged in the wine and food community.

Mondavi holds degrees from Stanford University, including a BS in Mechanical Engineering, an MS in Engineering Management, and an MBA. He is involved in several wine and food organizations, including the Wine and Food Society of San Francisco and the American Wine Society, and has served on a number of industry and academic boards, including Family Winemakers of California and the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

“Festival Napa Valley is one of the nation’s most exceptional arts organizations, and I am honored to join its Board,” said Mondavi. “Its commitment to artistic excellence and community impact is inspiring, and  I look forward to supporting its continued growth and success in the years ahead.”
