April 29, 2026 (Stockholm, Sweden) — On 21st April 2026, Star Wine List’s Rachel Fellows hosted the awards ceremony for Star Wine List of the Year Southeast Asia at ProWine Singapore, with eight venues scooping Gold Stars across 12 categories. Judge Richard Hemming was on hand to help name the winners, who are all to be found in Bangkok and Singapore. They include a refreshing mix of previous champions and new faces to this highly respected international competition.

The Star Wine List of the Year tour celebrates the world’s best wine lists – and the teams that create them. During the 2025/’26 season, competitions are being held in 14 regions across the globe, plus an online contest for all remaining locations; it will culminate in a Global Final, which will be held in southern Sweden this June. The awards event for Southeast Asia is now complete, and has seen the return of three impressive former champions along with five first-time winners.
A jury including Masters of Wine Richard Hemming and Stephen Wong, and elBullifoundation’s Ferran Centelles assessed all submitted wine lists from across Southeast Asia, ultimately choosing winners located in Bangkok (Thailand) and Singapore.
Haoma (Bangkok) has achieved the greatest feat of all by earning the Gold Star for sustainability four years running, and the Gold Star for the Best Short List three years running. Similarly, Indeed (also Bangkok) has taken Gold Stars for both the Best Medium List and Best By-the-Glass List for a third consecutive year, with Singapore’s Convivial once again named Best Sparkling Wine List after also taking the title in 2025.
The competition’s Best Newcomer List is to be found at temper. Wine Room & Lounge, in Singapore – the wine-focused restaurant opened in September 2025 and was also named Best Long List, a fiercely competitive category.
“Southeast Asia did not come to play,” commented judge Stephen Wong MW. “In keeping with the ceaseless rhythm of life and change in this dynamic part of the world, the best programmes have continued to astound and even surprise: previous winners who’ve held onto their lead have more than earned their place through continuous improvement. So much so, in fact, that the finest lists are now in a class of their own. It is therefore even more impressive to witness the monumental efforts undertaken by their peers to challenge the throne. It was, without a doubt, a uniquely masochistic delight to immerse ourselves in the vastness of Southeast Asia’s truly diverse wine lists once again this year.”
