Among the scheduled events, three Masterclasses featuring internationally renowned speakers, with a focus on wine tourism, the new generation of wine, and virtual reality. Extraordinary Commissioner Pettrone: “This is how Irpinia and Sannio present themselves as a cohesive system, capable of engaging with international markets.”

March 31, 2026 (Italy) — This year once again, the Irpinia Sannio Chamber of Commerce will play a leading role at Vinitaly with a structured and coordinated presence aimed at enhancing the identity, production quality, and wine tourism vocation of the Irpinia and Sannio territories. A total of 101 wineries will take part in the Campania Region collective at the Campania Pavilion, representing the area’s main appellations in a unified participation designed to strengthen their positioning both nationally and internationally. An initiative that goes beyond a simple trade fair presence, establishing itself as an integrated platform for communication, promotion, and networking.
At the core of the project is the adoption of a unified claim, Irpinia-Sannio – “Irpinia Sannio IS” – designed to strengthen the territory’s recognizability through a contemporary narrative capable of highlighting biodiversity, landscape, and production excellence. The claim refers both to the initials of Irpinia Sannio and to the English verb “to be,” opening up to international communication and multiple storytelling possibilities. During Vinitaly, video content and media relations activities will be developed to provide real-time coverage of the fair and amplify its visibility across various communication channels.
The Chamber’s participation will be further enriched by three Masterclasses scheduled at the Campania Region Events Area, located at the heart of the Campania Pavilion.
The first will take place on Monday, April 13 at 3:00 PM: a talk & tasting titled “Irpinia Sannio Wine Experience: territories, wines and hospitality,” dedicated to promoting wine tourism experiences and the identity of Irpinia and Sannio. Speakers will include Tommaso Luongo, President of AIS Campania; Maria Paola Sorrentino, President of Movimento Turismo del Vino Campania; Violante Gardini Cinelli Colombini, National President of Movimento Turismo del Vino; and Alessandra Dal Monte, Cook – Corriere della Sera. The talk will be accompanied by a tasting of wines from Irpinia and Sannio.
The second Masterclass is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at 3:00 PM, again at the Campania Region Events Area, on the topic “The new generation of Campanian wine: visions, sustainability and markets.” This session will explore the future protagonists of Campanian wine, led by international wine writer Ian D’Agata and Tommaso Luongo, President of AIS Campania.
Finally, on Wednesday, April 15 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, “Virtual reality and wine: new frontiers of promotion – Immersive tools to enhance wineries and territories,” an event dedicated to new technologies applied to wine, exploring how virtual reality can become a strategic and engaging tool for promoting wineries and enhancing territories.
“Participation in Vinitaly is part of a broader strategy to promote the territory,” stated the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Irpinia Sannio Chamber of Commerce, Girolamo Pettrone, “through which the Chamber is committed to concretely supporting businesses and promoting an integrated model that combines production, tourism, and culture. Today, Irpinia and Sannio present themselves as a cohesive system, capable of engaging with international markets through an increasingly structured and competitive offering, telling through wine an authentic story made of identity, quality, and a contemporary vision. The goal is to strengthen the positioning of our territories and support companies along a growth path that enhances not only the product, but the overall experience it represents.”
