Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini Del Monferrato: Filippo Mobrici to Lead a Renewed Board of Directors

Filippo Mobrici, Bersano Winery

March 27, 2026 (Costigliole d’Asti, Italy) — The members’ assembly of the Consorzio Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato has elected the new Board of Directors, confirming 18 board members and introducing 7 new producers who are ready to bring energy, vision and a contemporary outlook to the growth of the appellation.

Filippo Mobrici, of the Bersano winery, has also been appointed President of the Consorzio. This appointment marks a transition rooted in continuity and in the appreciation of the work carried out in recent years to strengthen the identity of Barbera and the wines of Monferrato in both national and international markets.

“Taking on the leadership of the Consorzio at this moment is a source of great pride and responsibility for me,” comments the newly elected President Filippo Mobrici. “We approach the upcoming Vinitaly with a renewed Board of Directors and with a strong commitment to further strengthening our dialogue with international markets. In recent years, the sector has faced a highly dynamic landscape, marked by constant change and new competitive challenges. This is precisely why our goal is to continue the work already initiated, consolidating the relationships we have built while also looking toward emerging markets, which are increasingly interested in wines that combine quality, identity and immediacy. As we move forward, we carry forward the work begun by my predecessor, Vitaliano Maccario, whom I wish to thank for having reinforced dialogue with national and international stakeholders and for the work carried out during a particularly complex three year term. We do so with our sights also set on the important milestone of the Consorzio’s eightieth anniversary, an occasion that represents not only a celebration but the outcome of a long shared history and a path built together with the producers of this territory.”

Supporting the President will be the two Vice PresidentsLorenzo Giordano from the Cantina Sociale di Vinchioe Vaglio Serra, and Giorgio Gozzelino from Cascina Castlet, who underline:

“Barbera d’Asti has all the qualities needed to speak to today’s consumers. It is a wine with a strong identity yet at the same time immediate, capable of being both authentic and accessible,” states Vice President Lorenzo Giordano. “Our goal is to continue presenting it as an increasingly pop wine, recognizable and close to consumers, able to combine quality, versatility and conviviality. This language allows Barbera to connect with new generations of wine lovers and with markets that are becoming ever more dynamic.”

“The value of Barbera d’Asti and the wines of Monferrato stems first and foremost from the daily work of the producers and from the deep bond with a unique territory, made of hills, soils and winemaking traditions that have shaped its identity for generations,” emphasizes Vice President Giorgio Gozzelino. “Our commitment will be to further strengthen teamwork among producers, institutions and the supply chain, so that these appellations can continue to serve as credible ambassadors of Monferrato throughout the world and convey the value of a territory where viticulture represents one of its highest expressions.”
