Sicily’s Wine Scene Returns to the Spotlight at Vinitaly 2026

Over 40 wineries, masterclasses, and a conference to narrate the evolution of Sicilian wine tourism

March 23, 2026 (Palermo, Italy) — Sicilian wine takes center stage once again in Verona from April 12th to 15th for Vinitaly 2026, one of the most prestigious international events in the wine sector.

This year, Assovini Sicilia will return with a collective of wineries located in Pavilion 2 (entirely dedicated to Sicily) and at its own dedicated stand (D40). This presence reaffirms the association’s commitment to promoting the quality and identity of Sicilian wine across national and international markets.

The participation is part of the PSR Sicilia 2023-2027 – Intervention SRG10 “Promotion of Quality Products,” sponsored by the Regional Department of Agriculture of the Sicilian Region. It involves over 40 wineries that represent the richness and biodiversity of the territory—a broad, representative group of both historic estates and emerging wineries united by a contemporary vision of Sicilian wine, increasingly focused on sustainability, research, and the enhancement of indigenous grape varieties.

“Vinitaly is always a vital moment for exchange and storytelling. Today, Sicilian wine speaks of an island that is changing and growing. At the fair, we want to convey this energy and provide an authentic image of who we are: diverse companies often different from one another, yet united by a deep bond with the land and a shared vision of quality,” says Mariangela Cambria, President of Assovini Sicilia.

Among the scheduled events, on Monday, April 13th at 12:30 PM, the conference “Journey to Sicily: New Frontiers of Wine Tourism” will take place at the conference hall of Sicilia Pavillon. This session is dedicated to the evolution of wine tourism and its cultural, economic, and narrative impact. The panel will include Filippo Magnani, Giulio Perrone, Federica Fina, Francesca Planeta, Federico Geremei, and Filippo Galanti, who will offer diverse perspectives—from travel and publishing to wine tourism and communication—to explore how the wine tourism experience is evolving and being narrated.

Throughout the fair, Assovini Sicilia will host a series of masterclass led by journalist Francesco Pensovecchio, designed to guide operators and the press through the various facets of Sicilian enology. See the following schedule. The masterclasses area is located at Assovini Sicilia’s stand (D40) inside the Sicilia Pavillon.

Participation in Vinitaly represents a pivotal moment for Assovini Sicilia to engage with buyers, operators, and stakeholders. It is also a key opportunity to strengthen dialogue with foreign markets and continue telling the story of a Sicilian wine industry that is evolving, dynamic, and increasingly recognized for its identity and quality.
